Ability to send from outlook using alias accounts
Please add the ability to send from an email alias from within the software (instead of having to use the online version to do so).
The user interface and features of the desktop version of Outlook are much better than the online version and I would like to be able to do all my communicating from there. However, without the ability to send from my other alias emails, I cannot do so. Thank you.

Please add this feature. I have different domains and aliases and I wish to automatically reply with an alias if it was sent to there.

I have 2 domains so one has to be set as an alias so I can't choose which email to send out with. Such a pain the only way is to go to the admin site and change your default email address. This has to be fixed.

Office 365 personal had the select alias feature when sending emails. this ability was lost when migrating to Office 365 business. My business has two similar domains with similar emails for two vastly different customer sets.

I would like to have an option to send an e-mail using Outlook.com connected account, without "in behalf of" note. Currently it is possible only using Outlook.com web interface.

Users should be able to send from account aliases (exchange). The permission model for send-as can be extended to aliases.

Not only should it be alias's set within exchange, but external mailboxes that I forward mail to. This is something Gmail has supported and is very convenient. You don't have to think about changing the from account, it defaults to reply from the account/ alias the message was sent to. So simple, really need this feature in Outlook ASAP

- With the option to default reply with the alias the email was sent to (same with calendar invites when accepting meeting requests).
- Include all the same functionalities in Mobile Outlook. -

when I try to send and email using my secondary or alias accounts they only go to the primary out box with an error that they can not be sent. I have an online email address and also an exchange address which both work fine but my alias online email address will not send.

@Mark Zbikowski - It's not outlook case here. It's how exchange handles the emails. There should be change in Exchange to do it properly. More User votes, more chance we have this feature. We too need to be able to send mails from the alias easily.

The problem isn't that you cannot select an alias from the "From" list... the issue is you cannot set a default. Today the From always defaults to my Outlook.com login, which is some ridiculous cryptic address. I, like many others, need to default to a more normal alias.

You can edit the From field to have a different sender, but Outlook formats this as "name <old-email> on behalf of name <different-email>" which is NOT what I want. GMAIL and Apple mail can do this correctly, why can't Outlook?

I have aliases for my hotmail and outlook.com addresses. They all show in the drop-down list under the "From" button. However, I am unable to set a specific alias as the DEFAULT from address (it always defaults to my horrible, ancient hotmail address). This seems to be such a sensible option I can't work out why it can't be done.

I've just bought a new Mac and O365 to replace my old machine's local version. I have one ISP, but they host several domains for me, and all emails are downloaded via my one ISP account. However, I used to be able to add all the accounts which my ISP manages, in Outlook, then just do one download but be able to reply according to which email address I had received on. Now it seems I can't do that, unless I want multiple copies of each email downloaded every time I log in, which is useless and messy.
Come on Microsoft, that's a simple, basic requirement, put it back!

I was able to send directly from my old outlook account desk top version from my alias email address but now with the update to Windows 365, it now gives me the option of my windows email primary email and have to type in my email everytime - even when replying... very annoying.
Is there a way to correct this? especially for reply emails as they keep defaulting to primary email address instead of Alias address.

Cause I can't use aliases in Outlook2016, I have to use the open source Thunderbird .
Please add the alias feature in Outlook 2016 (desktopversion).

Currently it is possibile to define "From" aliases and select them when composing a new mail. The "From" combo-box lists all the accounts and aliases. Whe preparing anew meeting invitation, the "From" combo-box lists only accounts and aliases are missing. Please extend it.
