Flagged emails should not be yellow in inbox in Microsoft Outlook 2016
Flagged emails should not be defaulted to yellow highlight as well as the red flag. This should be an optional function turned on/off or provide an option to make it an optional feature.
602 votesWe recently shipped a setting to disable the yellow message highlight. It is slowly rolling out to subscription users. The setting is in the Options dialog, Mail tab, Other category: “Highlight flagged items in the message list”.

Enhanced Search
Enhanced email search - search multiple criteria (similar to Gmail) Sender, recipient, date, folder, keyword, subject, etc including Wildcard search.
29 votesAdvanced Search is available in the new Search experience. After clicking into the search box, Advanced Search can be found on the right side of the search box. Default options are Scope, Attachments, From, Body, Received Time, Subject, and To. More options can be added by clicking +Add more options.

Allow user to disable "Top Results"
Currently search of email includes "top results" at the top of the search list even when the list is sorted by date. This is a terrible feature in a business setting where it is important to reply to the most recent email in a thread.
The option "Show most relevant search results on top" should disable this feature, but does not.
75 votesOption to disable Top Results is available under File → Options → Search → “Show most relevant search results on top”

Bring back Advanced Find to Outlook Search Tools
Starting with July-August updates Advanced Find option has been removed from Search Tools in Outlook 2016.
502 votesThank you for your feedback. We have brought Advanced Find back to Outlook based on feedback from our customers.
Sincerely,
Outlook Team -
Bring back sorting for All/Unread/Mentions and Arrange By quick sorting by Date, Size, etc.
In the latest update the view change to consolidate to a singular "All" dropdown that allows you to choose between the former All, Unread, Mentions and then to easily Sort with Arrange By. For many users the expanded view is preferred and more easily accessible. If that could be made a view option, or a toggle feature I think that would be a functionality improvement
Note from the Outlook Team: We have posted a Known Issue about this change with some explanation and possible solutions, https://support.office.com/en-us/article/All-Mail-and-Unread-Mail-tab-options-no-longer-show-in-Outlook-ecdfda13-bdc1-42e2-a77b-c18f6f291fe1?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US.
1,053 votesUpdate from the Outlook team: We’ve brought back the All and Unread filters for the inbox folder, as well as made enhancements to the sorts and filters menu. As a note, Focused and Other pivots will take priority over All and Unread when opted in to Focused Inbox.
These changes should be available for all users with Version 1802 (Build 9001.2138) and above.
Cheers,
The Outlook Team -
Bug: search box doesn't search for what I type
Bug: When I begin typing a search term in the "Search Current Mailbox" input box, a dropdown box appears listing recent searches. Whatever, I don't intend to click on any of those. I finish typing my search term and hit "Enter" - outlook does not search for what I typed. Instead, it searched for the term in the dropdown that happened to be under the cursor of my untouched mouse.
114 votesThank you to everyone who submitted feedback and bug reports. This has been fixed and released for Office 365 Home, Office 365 Personal, Office 365 Business, and Office 365 ProPlus customers on Monthly Channel and Semi-Annual Channel.

Provide a button to enable or disable Focused Inbox in Microsoft Outlook 2016.
134 votesNote from the Outlook Team: There is support for turning on or off Focused Inbox from within Outlook 2016. In the View Tab, click “Show Focused Inbox” to toggle Focused Inbox on or off. These details, plus more for other Outlook endpoints can be found on our blog post here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/turn-off-focused-inbox-f714d94d-9e63-4217-9ccb-6cb2986aa1b2
Note: If the button is present, but grayed out, it means Outlook could not connect to the service. Checking your network connection and rebooting the app should clear this up.

Black theme should make Reading/Edit pane dark too or Make the Black theme standard Feature
As shown in other applications such as Spotify or dark theme in Netbeans, Office applications should have Reading / Edit dark panels because they appearing in white, so the contrast is too high and some annoying to the user's view. It should be dark gray or black with light gray font. Thanks!
Or make the Black theme standard Feature

Outlook Maximum Number of Folders
The maximum number of folders in Outlook 2016 connected to O365 Exchange is currently limited to 500 for optimal performance. Users are able to continue creating folders and then face slowness and poor performance. So please consider the below features for future versions:
1. There should be a warning message pop up or alert created when number of folders is exceeded.
2. The limit of the number of folders should be increased from 500 to 5000 minimum
3. Users should receive an alert that they should archive their email or reduce their mailbox size instead of waiting for it to…5 votesWith the May release for our Monthly Office 365 subscription customers, this is now resolved! This will be included in our Semi-Annual targeted and standard releases in July and January respectively.

653 votesThank you for all your feedback. We heard you and now for Office 365 Subscribers on Current Channel, when you use the attach file command, local files will be automatically added as attachments. Files stored in the cloud will come with a dialog that ask you whether you would prefer to add as an attachment or share as a link. In Options, we also added a toggle to remember your preference if you would like to always add as an attachment.

Option of third time zone for viewing calendars or
Option to add a third time zone option for viewing Calendars in Microsoft Outlook 2016 or provide Timezone swap button on the ribbon. Right now, to swap timezones, you need to go to options calendar timezone swap. It would be great to have a button in the ribbon, where this can be done with 1 click. Also, there is no way to customize the ribbon to do the timezone swap as a button, everything Ive read is a VBA\VBS script that needs to be written to do this. Also it is handy when you travel a lot and you want…
543 votesHi again,
The option to show a 3rd time zone is now available in Outlook for Office 365 subscribers!
For customers receiving Monthly updates, this new option is available in Version 1805 (released in May 2018). For customers receiving Semi-Annual updates, this new option is available in Version 1808 (released to Semi-Annual Targeted in Sept 2018; coming to Semi-Annual Broad in Jan 2019).
To access the new option: From Outlook > File > Options > Calendar (tab) and scroll down to Time Zones.
Thank you again for your feedback!
Thanks,

Default Zoom settings for all emails
Ability to set the default zoom level for all messages being read without having to change it for each individual message. Also a feature to allow zoom to work on the whole outlook window not just on the reading pane would be beneficial.
506 votesThank you all so much for the feedback. With the latest monthly update of Office, we are shipping a setting to maintain the level of zoom from email to email. To get to the dialog, the easiest way is to click on the % zoom level button in the bottom right of the Outlook app. Please try it out and let us know how it goes. Thank you.

When an item is deleted, mark it as read
I often click the X to delete an email from the list without reading it (I know it is junk). It then goes to the Deleted folder but stays unread. This messes with my search folders that look for unread emails.
668 votesThis new option is now available for Office 365 ProPlus and Office 365 Business customers on the Monthly Channel who upgrade to Version 1803 (Build 9126.2116).
From Outlook, you can turn this on using File > Options > Mail. Look for the “Other” section and check the box next to “Mark messages as read when deleted”.
We will eventually support this new option for all subscription customers using Office 365 ProPlus, or any of our Office 365 business and enterprise products. For customers on the Semi Annual Channel, this new option will be included in the next major update. There are no plans to backport to older versions of Outlook.
Thanks again for your feedback!
