If you turn on AutoPreview in Outlook 2016 and the message list is in its wide mode, each message or conversation has about half a line of empty white space under each message's AutoPreview text.

I use 1-line AutoPreview, so this extra space steals over 10% of the available vertical space in the message list!

To repro:
1) while viewing inbox, turn off preview pane or move it to the bottom
2) maximize outlook so that it will switch to its "wide" mode with sender and subject on the same line
3) turn on auto-preview and set it to 1 line

Expected: message's bottom border is only a few pixels below the bottom of auto-preview text
Actual: half a line of wasted space.

There isn't any wasted space at the top of the message, only underneath it.

It doesn't show up when AutoPreview is turned off-- in that case, the display is very efficient without wasted space.

Outlook 2010 had the ability to show Auto Preview only for read messages. Lack of this feature in Outlook 2016 dramatically reduces the number of mails that I can view without scrolling. For example, my Inbox today in Outlook 2016 shows less than half as many messages as the same Inbox in Outlook 2010.

My work day usually involves 10-20 email conversations. Being able to see them all on the same page without scrolling is important to my efficiency at work. Please bring this feature back!

The "Unread Mail" link above the messages list is not an acceptable substitute (and honestly I don't find it helpful at all), because I'd have to constantly toggle back and forth between unread mail and all mail. Instead, I just want to see my inbox in a space-efficient way.

For conversation view, AutoPreview (if limited to unread messages) should show the most recent unread message, not the most recent message which may be read.

When using the Move Item drop down (Home tab -> Move & touch mode on the side bar), the list of folder only show the name.

For example in the To-Do List (listing both flagged emails & task items) i may folders with the same name but for the different types (e.g. Task Items name "Personal" and an email folder named "Personal"). There is no way to distinguish between the 2 from this list. As a result you frequently unintentially move an email into a a task folder and it now becomes an attachment. In certain types of mail accounts there is no way to undo this action.

Simple icons for the type of folder would make it more apparent.

Keep 'open item' emails in my inbox, and while we can categorize them to help them remember what's what, it would be very helpful if we could add a simple note to the Inbox view (i.e. without having to open the email), just saying "with John for review", or "sent to group, awaiting feedback", or "chase by Friday".

Perhaps the 'comment' functionality from Office could work, with just a little speech bubble that opens when hovered over - this would make my life MUCH easier!
Also, it would be good to attach a little sticky note to an email for email works. Also I would like to see visual updates on sticky notes for certain work tasks, adding a sticky not that once you enter a comment it displays it all the time, looking more like a note and a stamp.

I just discovered that the table in meeting response tracker doesn't behave like a regular Windows table:
- columns cannot be re-sized through either dragging the dividers or double-clicking them for auto-adjustment;
- columns cannot be sorted by clicking their headers (e.g., show invited persons alphabetically or group response status).

This issue is present in Outlook 2010, 2013, and 2016. Please change it.

Also, can’t move/resize the column headers or sort by column. Also cannot see an accurate count of accept, tentative, decline as a delegate. If someone creates the meeting on behalf of an executive/manager, they can’t see the acceptance counts (tracking view or on main invite window). Would like to enhance product to provide ability to resize/sort column headers and provide counts for meeting responses.
