Quick delete button and Flag status are too close together
Outlook 2013/2016,
Quick Delete button and Flag Status button are really close together, please make an option to remove the Quick Delete button. The position of the buttons results in accidentally deleting a message. Also the popup and discard button are too close and it makes it easy to press the wrong button and loose the entire response.

Accepted appointments should have the "Accept" option grayed out
Accepted appointments should have the "Accept" option grayed out. This way, we won't need to do a double-take on whether we've accepted it or not. And similarly for a tentative appointment, the "Tentative" button should be grayed out.

Retain Search Folders
We really would like to be able to access our customized search folders from the Outlook Web App and from the apps on our smartphones. These are very valuable features for our organization. Additionally, any new Outlook profile on a desktop client needs to have these search folders recreated manually, which can be problematic during move/add/change proceedings.

Option to optimize the grammar and spell check tool and provide a spell check option when an email is in capital letters in outlook 2016
Option to optimize the spell check and grammar tool, for extensive editing while composing emails in Outlook 2016. Also bring back “look up” in the drop down menu that comes up when you right click. If you choose “look up” in the past, you’d be linked to a dictionary. Now there is just the “Thesaurus” option and provide a spell check option when an email is in capital letters in Microsoft Outlook 2016. Also Spellcheck should automatically know that words which match the spelling of a name in an email address in the ‘To:’ or ‘Cc:’ fields are not spelled…

Option to add 'Archive' Button to Menu on the Right Side (in Touch Mode)
In Microsoft Outlook 2016 on Microsoft Surface in Touch Mode, when we are looking at emails, we have menu with buttons along the right hand side of the screen (Delete, Reply, Flag, etc.). We have the tendency to touch those icons when we are reading emails, as our hand generally hovers around that right side, so it would be really helpful if the archive button can be added to that specific quick menu. Ideally, it would be great if we could edit which buttons are there and which aren't.

Include how many hours a task required
In outlook.com, there is a drop-down menu to include approximately how much time a task will take/did take. This is something that my employer wants to use to see approximately how much time each project we do takes, but this option is nowhere in the downloadable program, only the website. This addition would be perfect for our company's needs.

Change default calender
So many of us are dedicated users of Outlook for Windows... and also use a Win10 Mobile phone.
Problem: each device uses a different calendar: Office for Windows uses my default email ID, which is my domain email ID (not Exchange). The phone uses an Outlook.com email ID. To get a calendar item sent over to the phone, I have to manually copy all of my calendar items in Outlook for Windows over to the Outlook.com calendar under "My Calendars". Interoperability between the two platforms is difficult.
Solution: We need an option in Outlook for Windows to change the default…45 votes -

Touch mode email action buttons
I like the increased whitespace of the 'touch mode' even when I'm not on a touch computer. There is one annoying UI change in Outlook that happens when you go into touch mode. It moves the email action buttons (reply, delete, etc) to the right side in a vertical bar and removes any text labels. It would be great if the icons stayed where they are in the normal mode but are larger and have more whitespace. Much like the changes that happen on the ribbon.

Option of organizing the sequence in the drop down menu in Microsoft Outlook 2016
Option to organize the drop down menu in Microsoft Outlook 2016. In the drop-down menu there are many options, however they are used according to individuals requirements. Such options allow us to better place the most frequently used features in the drop down menu to enhance the action and task handling.

Improve the "Manage rules and alerts" or there should be a rule like "Move after I read" the emails in Outlook 2016
The rules and alerts are powerful and very important in properly organizing Microsoft Outlook inbox. However it has been observed:
The User Interface is old. The dialog cannot be re-sized and managing many rules becomes tedious.
All the rules are not compatible between web version and desktop client even when the features are available on both. While not having some sounds or special events on the web version can be understandable, not being able to categorize the emails is annoying. It would be nice to have some "cleanup features" to review the rules. Also Creation of rules to automatic categorization…

Sending Email using mailto: function in Microsoft Outlook 2016
Option of sending an email using Microsoft Outlook 2016 using the mailto: option when Microsoft Outlook 2016 is closed. At present, the email is stored in the Outbox and is only sent once we open the Microsoft Outlook 2016 and the send and receive is completed thereby delaying the email to be sent out otherwise. It should remain open and shall only close once the email has been sent.

New feature request: Introduce email locking mechanism to prevent multiple email threads of the same subject
New feature request: Introduce email locking mechanism to prevent multiple email threads of the same subject.
Problem:
Sometimes, at workplace in the same group, multiple people will be replying all to the same email thread. As a result, there will be several threads of the same email floating around. Different people’s emails will be in different threads of the same email subject.
Proposal:
1.Introduce a button in the compose email window that says, “Lock”.
2.Whenever someone (say, Person A) is replying all to an email message, he/she clicks on the “Lock” button.
3.At the email server, there would be a…20 votes -
Pin or Stick important emails at the top of your Inbox
Option to be able to pin or stick important emails at the top of your inbox regardless of the date and time they were received when sorted by date. Also consider this scenario: Option to be able to pin someone automatically when we reply or send new mail.
We PIN all the “must” people in the CC so it will save our time in putting all the people in the CC every time we send mail. Plus, since there are a lot of “must” people to be filled out in CC, there may be some mistake to not include some…

Provide in-app training for new features like Clutter
The clutter feature has been really frustrating to many people I know and work with. There seems to be a lack of understanding of how it works and that the clutter folder still needs to be monitored. Many people also believe that it acts just like the spam folder.
My suggestion would be to provide some in-app training. Upon login during the first week or so, provide a popup on the clutter folder that draws attention to emails it has cluttered:
'I moved 4 messages to clutter today. Please check them out. Or, if you would like me to stop…15 votes
