Instant Search popup should contain a link to where to find more information
I click the button for Instant Search. A popup shows up telling me that Windows Search service is not installed. It is not clear what it means to "see the Help included with your version of Microsoft Windows". The popup should be clearer, and/or a link should be in the popup for more information of how to set it up.

Provide a feature to add an internal subject matter to track emails with relevance not stated in subject line in Microsoft Outlook 2016
For example, I am an accountant. Many of our clients are large families and we communicate with their financial advisor only. We receive email updates throughout the year related to multiple family members. The subject line the advisor chooses may be the family's last name but the subject matter within the email may be multiple things such as estimated taxes and changes to payments, letters from governmental agencies, new addresses, purchases and sales, etc. The problem I have is by the time we are ready to prepare a tax return in October we may have 15 emails out of 150…

Store searches using keyword sent: in the list of recommended searches
I often search for e-mails that I sent or received on a certain date. For that purpose I am using the German keyword "gesendet: <date>", probably "sent: <date>" in Englisch.
In earlier versions of Outlook, this type of search appeared in a list of my recent searches, but now it is completely gone. All I have left is a list "Vorgeschlagene Suchen" (probably "Recommended Searches) which does not contain my previous entries. So the current list is more or less useless for my purpose3 votes -
A traffic light system so individuals can indicate their current workload and availability
Enable a traffic light system so individuals can indicate their current workload and availability, and have this visible to their team members at a glance within Outlook. A simple traffic light shade scale: green through amber and red. During this period of Covid-19, i need an easy way to see when my team are available and have capacity for work - whether it be email/calls/video. A simple green traffic light would mean they are available; red they are not available; sliding scale in between. Ideally visible immediately under the toolbar for each team member.

"Fin related -> Messages from sender" search is incomplete
"Fin related -> Messages from sender" search is incomplete
I have 4500 emails in enterprise outlook inbox. out of nearly 2500 mails are to be deleted. When I do "Fin related -> Messages from sender", it shows only 100 results at a time and shows status (at bottom) searching... This is happening after my mailbox migrated to office 365. I did index rebuild etc... work to resolve myself but no luck. Due to security reasons I am providing personal email ID to the conversation

Provide a feature to create SEARCH FOLDER based on Regular Expressions in Microsoft Outlook 2016
When we use SEARCH in Microsoft Outlook 2016 using regular expressions, a provision of a SEARCH FOLDER to be created based on regular expression like: (((((to:(First Name; Last Name) OR cc:(First Name; Last Name)) AND ((isread:no) OR ((isread:yes) AND followupflag:followup flag)))) AND folderpath:Inbox)) would make the application more productive.

Disable Sorting search by folder as default
I use search extensively. Every, single, time, I have to arrange search results by date rather than folder manually, because the default is "arrange by folder". (Right click on "All↓" under the quicksearch bar. I have hundreds of folders, I assume this feature is useful for certain people, but not being able to change the default behavior is strange to say the least, it's such a specific customization either way...why offer the options if you can't change the default.

Support Full Search Capabilities when Outlook is running in elevated mode
Outlook Search is not working when Outlook has to run with adminstrator privileges. There should be an option to enable this as other programs require Outlook to run elevated - like e.g. Microsoft Visual Studio (!).

Simply search.
Simplify search. A.Click on a mail. B.Click in the search box. C.Click on "From" and it automatically populates the senders name from A.
Even better, click on a mail and click from (not currently displayed however).

Smarter Outlook 2016
- Would like to easily follow up on emails. I imagine my ability to set a reminder on an email I send - a reminder only I see - that keeps me informed and warns me after X days of my choice, whether I received a reply or not. This is some next-step ML similar to checking if the body of an email contained the keyword "attach" and then remind me I've forgotten to add one. I could say "please do this by Friday", and Outlook will remind me on Friday that "this activity should be done by Friday by this…

Each email to have a reference id and a database with reference id and cross reference of replies to verify whether the emails were replied.
Each email should have an automatic system assigned reference tag numbering.
Outlook shall also have a feature to make it clear whether the email has been replied.
Please consider a provision to assign RR (Response Required) or NRR (No Response Required) for each mail.2 votes -
