  1. Add an option to include sub-folders by default when using Search in Microsoft Outlook 2016

Add an option to include sub-folders by default when using Search in Microsoft Outlook 2016. At present, we have to manually select the option to include Sub-folders. Additionally enable Microsoft Outlook 2016 to search for all the emails.

  2. Option to display folder of email after search

I have a huge number of sub-folders in my post office box.
When I use the search tool to find specific email it would be nice to have an option to display the corresponding sub-folder. Something similar like the "Open folder" option when you right click on a Windows Search result.
Considering the huge number of sub-folders, finding the corresponding folder of an email is sometimes not obvious.

  3. integrate Cortana with Outlook natively

It would be great if Cortana were available to integrate in with Outlook directly. It could help detect tasks and suggest appointments based on emails. Also it would be great if it could suggest contacting specific contacts that haven't been contacted in a while. Also remind the users of an upcoming Outlook calendar event with voice reminders through Cortana. Provide an option to use “Cortana” for the Read Aloud feature in Office, especially when running supported PC(Windows 10 PCs).

  4. Search for email addresses in new mail compose window

When you create a new email, and then click the 'to' button, you get the 'select names' dialog box. I'd like then to be able to search for 'part of an email address' instead of just the persons name. The search box at the moment only returns a search of 'names only'.

For instance if I have a load of contacts at the RBS Bank but don't know all their names I'd like to type RBS in the search box and have the result return all contacts with RBS in their email address.

I'd like to send an email to…

  5. Option to save Search Queries used in searching emails in Microsoft Outlook 2016

Option to save Search Queries used in searching emails in Microsoft Outlook 2016

Option to save search criteria/search query in Microsoft Outlook 2016 would be beneficial. Also provide an option to include sub-folders in Search by default.

Also consider this scenario for Search Feature: Highlight text in an Outlook email, right click for menu, and then have the option for searching all emails in Outlook for that text. It should be an easy shortcut to create.

  6. Option of searching Email messages using Windows Search

In previous additions of Outlook it was possible to type a keyword in the windows search box, and e-mails (not just files) would be displayed. This is no longer possible, you can now only search for e-mails from within Outlook. Please bring back the ability to search from the Windows search box. Ideally, provision of options like AND, OR, NOT and XOR or you could “find with all terms”, “Find with any term”, find without term, etc. would be beneficial including Boolean search functions. Also within the Search toolbar enable search capabilities so that we are able to toggle between…

  7. Message Preview missing from search results

When I type any text into the search box of my inbox, all Message Preview text disappears. Turning on Message Preview in the ribbon or changing the number of preview lines does nothing.

I normally work with the preview pane turned off so I normally rely on Message Preview to help determine which is the correct message to open. With no Message Preview when searching, now I have to open each possible message. Slow!

Please bring back the ability to show Message Preview in Search Results, at least if the Preview Pane is off!

  9. Provide an ability to navigate recent searches easily

A small arrow icon which will display my recent 10 searches will be of great help. A lot of times we search inbox with few keywords and mostly with numbers which are lengthy. Navigating through recent searches should make it easier to research and can save a lot of time.

Adding a small arrow or a Recent Searches icon just next to Search field can be easy to spot and immediate use.

  12. the search results may be reported latest to oldest instead oldest to latest searches

when the number of messages are huge, it is taking too much time to search the old conversations. it is because the search in indexed items are taking place from older to newer messages. it would be ideal to provide newer messages appaear first in the search results

  13. In microsoft outlook while using Ctrl + Shift + F for finding e-mails, the columns that we require the previous column does not remain fixed

In microsoft outlook while using Ctrl + Shift + F for finding e-mails, the columns that we require the previous column does not remain fixed.
As a result, repeatedly we need to add columns which we prefer / require.

  14. Smarter Outlook 2016

    • Would like to easily follow up on emails. I imagine my ability to set a reminder on an email I send - a reminder only I see - that keeps me informed and warns me after X days of my choice, whether I received a reply or not. This is some next-step ML similar to checking if the body of an email contained the keyword "attach" and then remind me I've forgotten to add one. I could say "please do this by Friday", and Outlook will remind me on Friday that "this activity should be done by Friday by this…

  15. Fix your search in all mail boxes folder!!!! Viewing as conversations is not suitable at all!

Bring back the ability to search in all mail boxes without having to show as conversations! This is very inconvenient for business owners!

  16. Full indexing and apostrophe or quote search

Full indexing search on outlook commands and outlook data in single search window
    Should have shortcut

Also, when searching for a string containing either a smart or straight apostrophe or quote, return matches for both types.

  17. Search results view in 8625.2127 is broken

In Outlook for Windows build 8625.2127, the search results view is missing the sender. Instead of showing the sender, the results list shows nothing.

  18. Provide a feature to add an internal subject matter to track emails with relevance not stated in subject line in Microsoft Outlook 2016

For example, I am an accountant. Many of our clients are large families and we communicate with their financial advisor only. We receive email updates throughout the year related to multiple family members. The subject line the advisor chooses may be the family's last name but the subject matter within the email may be multiple things such as estimated taxes and changes to payments, letters from governmental agencies, new addresses, purchases and sales, etc. The problem I have is by the time we are ready to prepare a tax return in October we may have 15 emails out of 150…

  19. Add the ability to filter out Drafts in Emails that was sent if they were combined in a single folder.

a PSTfile can contain thousands of drafts and sent Email, especially in the purges, filtering them out manually can prove to be a tedious tas, so far I couldn't find a filter or a query that can filter out drafts or Emails that has not been actually sent apart from the actual search items.

  20. Button for Search Refresh

After I define a search for my Inbox (which includes only unread items and returns over 200 emails) I begin handling those emails. As I complete each email, the email message is now "read". However, it stays in the search results. From time to time, I would like to be able to hit a Search Reload/Refresh button to eliminate the now read emails from the results window. The only time that an email message seems to auto-eliminate itself from the results list is when I right-click and select Mark as Read. However, the emails that I am searching for contain…
