Swap timezones Button in Outlook Calendar - Can you please put it back
The Swap Timezones in Outlook calendar has disappeared.
Can you please put it back again?
Executive Assistants who work with Global Timezones really need this - I need it on a daily basis.
When travelling to another time zone, calendar events are shown in the destination TZ. For example, if I'm in Australia then a USA event would appear to be occurring tomorrow (say -17hrs difference).
Whilst technically correct and that's OK once I get to the USA, it is very confusing when organizing lots of meetings as you have no easy way of seeing the events as if they were in "local time". You have to mentally calculate the difference, and turning on the extra TZ sidebar doesn't make it any easier.
To overcome this, I set up an extra (dummy) calendar where I reenter the events as they will appear when I get to the new TZ. So a 5pm event in the US gets entered as a 5PM event in AU time (with no reminder because the actual event is the correct one).
What I'd prefer is a "duplicate" feature where an event in another TZ is shown as a greyed out "duplicate" (or the future TZ is shown as grey). This is duplicated at the correct time of day for when you get there. So a 5pm Fri event in the US shows in my normal AU calendar as a (grey) 5pm Fri event, not a 6am Sat event. Then I can see clearly what my week really looks like.
This should be done automatically whenever you set the event TZ to a different location.
This was deleted and then reinstated and now once again in Dec deleted and an International Time Zone west added??? This is a massive fail and a hindrance in my role as an EA to be able to plan globally
