Big White space appearing above inbox and is quite irritating
Its seem like a bug to me

absolutely maddening waste of space. Interface design 101 .... and they haven't fixed this now for over a YEAR !

The whole "arrange by" strip above the inbox is unnecessary, especially in "compact" mode. "All" "Unread" and "By Date" is should be removable, allowing only a single line for the search box. All of the sorting is already possible by clicking on the column headers. All this whitespace is wasted screen space.
