Compose window entry fields for TO and CC are way bigger than text label in latest update to Microsoft Outlook 2016.
The entry fields for TO and CC are taller than the spacing of their labels to the left. This leaves less vertical space for the Subject entry field (both not aligned to its label, as well as narrower than the TO & CC fields), and looks very sloppy. Please revert it to the older format or provide an option to select between the new and old format.

this makes me sick to my stomach that everyone in this thread is rightfully complaining on a MS feature 'upgrade' and there is not a single comment from MS - its sickening
Pls bring back that old working UI, this new with giant buttons is horrible. Is it done for the kids? Not for professional users I am sure
IT TAKES TOO MUCH SPACE can't you see? Many of us are _working_ with small screens. Pls note we are working, we don't need _more stream like looks_, we NEED user friendly UI

The recent changes to the address bar (line underneath, no box) is a huge retrograde step. The whole lot takes more screen space then it should. I am less productive since the update. Microsoft...remember you have an economic impact on millions of workers trying to do their job.
I call it the PlaySchool interface. It's got giant buttons for toddler fingers, i guess. It's not a professional interface for being used on a notebook PC.
I've got a dozen users just hating this, but everyone feels helpless to have any input on getting it fixed. And I say "fixed" because it was fine and now the "improvement" takes up nearly 1/2 of the screen on our Surface 3 machines with the To, CC, BCC, and the now invisible "Subject" space (it isn't a subject line, since there is no line). So that is considered "broken" in my book.
There needs to be an actual option to return this to a much more compact mode (like it was), and not the band-aid reduced space button that has other side effects.
OMG, I dislike the updated Compose Email buttons for Send, To Cc as the Subject line is missing.
I agree please give the user an option to change back in a setting.
our outlook just updated and I thought I clicked on something that ruined my view. Checked other units and all of us have these big entry fields. this new spacing seems like somebody designed it just for the sake of making a change without looking if it looks good or not. We really dislike it, too much unnecessary space. with so many sleek, clean and proportion designs of everything nowadays, this Outlook update made its new outfit very elementary, felt like I just start to learn typing on a system from year 2004.
Commenting to agree. All touch updates are ruining functionality for business users. Allow different views for touch and traditional users.
When composing an email, the space taken up from the ribbon to the subject line is around 35-40% of the length of my 13" laptop screen. That's a lot of wasted space!!
The user needs to be able to customise the layout. If it's the current update is to cater for touch, the UX designer needs to take into account business users would still be on traditional (non-touch) interfaces.
Currently it looks like it's designed for touch. This would be great except I don't compose emails commonly using touch - I'll use my mobile phone mostly. There needs to be an option to make these fields smaller again. Especially when my laptop isn't docked and I'm working with a smaller screen resolution, it's a pain to see the body.
Bring back bordered boxes when composing e-mail. The new June 2019 look is terrible.
Also, when viewing e-mail, please bring the subject line back under the To, CC lines where it belongs.
Reducir parte de arriba de correos nuevos
Reduce top of new emails
You can not make smaller the elements of the top part where the accounts are entered: To, CC, BCC and Subject of the email? When you are going to create a new email, this part that looks almost half the screen looks very large.

Po tom co se nějaký nový “rádobyprogramátor” vyřádil na novém vzhledu je řádek vyhledávání nad poštou otřesně zmenšený. Vrátit prosím zpět normální velikost kam se dá psát!
After a new "programmaker" has turned out on a new look, the search line above the mail is terribly diminished. Please go back to the normal size where you can write!
Also, if you're reading this and agree, please click the blue VOTE button in the upper left.
While the 'use tighter spacing' option does help some in the ribbon/header areas, it seriously compromises my two line message preview and makes me feel like I need glasses.
Office team, PLEASE give us a way to go back to the old look or as a plan B, give us an option to turn on tighter spacing ONLY in headers/ribbon menus.

please reduce the white space! the look is not only basic but takes up way too much real estate.
Fix the too much white space problem you just created
The new design for the From/To/CC/Send bar when composing new mail is twice the size than it was previously. This means there is less space for the most important part of a mail - the body.
Not only are the buttons twice the size but the fields are now twice the size, with massive spacing above and below entered text.
Please revert or give an option to change the size.
Um, well, don't make updates that make it worse. I opened it and everything is massively spaced. And I'm like, wow, what happened, and my wife's like, did you get an update, and I said no, and she said that I must have because she received and update and everything's hugely spaced and everything in my interface is hugely spaced, so I must have received and update. But we both don't like it and though, you know, a good feature would be to not make updates that make it worse, or at least not as often. Maybe that's it, let us get used to the current bad updates before giving us more. Thank you for considering my suggestion.
Okay, seriously, I have a lot of emails and they are now so spaced out, that I can only see five in my inbox on a 4k screen.

Loads of unused white space, mangled menus and toolbars, inconsistent look and feel. Did this leak out by accident?
