Compose window entry fields for TO and CC are way bigger than text label in latest update to Microsoft Outlook 2016.
The entry fields for TO and CC are taller than the spacing of their labels to the left. This leaves less vertical space for the Subject entry field (both not aligned to its label, as well as narrower than the TO & CC fields), and looks very sloppy. Please revert it to the older format or provide an option to select between the new and old format.
Any update on how to change this view?

PLEASE change this back to the smaller size. Everyone clicks on the wrong line because this is so spaced out and it leaves very little space for the actual message. Poor spacing & a bad look. Unnecessary change.

The "new" user interface is proof that Microsoft can't possibly use MS Office in their own offices. Come on, Microsoft, this "upgrade" is horrible!
I agreee - this is the MUST STUPID "downgrade" ever made - WHY DO I NEED TO BOTHER WITH BIG FIELDS AND NOTHING LEFT TO SEE. ALSO WHEN BOOKING MEETINGS ECT + ATTACHED FILES ARE SO BIG
MUST BE A VERY INCOMPETENT PERSON THAT CAME UP WITH THIS UPGRADE
I HAVE EVEN CONTACTED MICROSOFT SO MANY TIMES WITH REGARD THIS STUPED DOWNGRADE = NOTHING HAPPENS
This seems like a change purely for the sake of it, but adds an extra half second to my thinking process every time I send an email, in addition to having the feel of Microsoft changing the interface for the sake of it.
How many months have to go by before you fix this garbage???? I have shown it to my coworkers and they are terrified of being forced to upgrade. We hate this pathetic white space glutton UI. Fonts are out of proportion. You FAIL on UX design.
Seems that the old look is still there, somewhere: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/outlook-2019-reverted-back-to-old-look-how-do-i/3e9ebca0-8b04-43e8-9ff2-0f9a575bff22
Question is how to get to it?
Is this someone's GSCE computer assignment submission....in which case they have failed!
Rich is absolutely correct - the new look is another failure, fix it or give an "old format" option - Gee Wiz who writes this stuff, does it get reviewed, is it put past a panel of "hardcore users". Every time these updates are pushed I have to waste time fixing the mess - please, get a clue.
I wish these changes had not been implemented, much preferred the look and feel before. Change is good, but not this time!
I wonder if they have end users outside the company test the layout before rolling it out? It seems like a lot of issues could be resolved if this was done first!
Office Product Management fails again! This new UI is absolute garbage! It looks like the Office team wants to ensure they're on the front end of design language but is so stuck in the silicone valley bubble that they have completely lost touch of what their users actually want! We don't buy Office for looks, we buy it for function! Luckily there's no strong alternatives to the Office suite, but if there was a comparable offering I would switch tomorrow!
PLEASE bring back the old interface. This is awful.
What an abysmal change. What was the point? To justify a job? Please rectify this immediately. M$, are you listening?
Outlook 'updated' yesterday and I spent an hour trying to figure out how to fix the broken interface, only to find that this is the new layout. Wow
Eventually I learned how to change the Layout to 'Use Tighter Spacing', but it's still significantly bigger than before and I lose so much viewing space when I undock my laptop with a 14" screen. Even on my larger desktop monitor Outlook is way too cramped when I dock the Outlook window to use half of the screen.
The 'use tighter spacing' button only has one option to shrink this up. I should be able to adjust the size of this area back to what it was, it's huge now. If I'm working on my laptop I absolutely have to pop out a message because I can barely see where I'm typing.

The new header is terrible. Was the done for the hard-of-seeing or something?? If so, please provide a way for the other 90+% of us to undo it!
I use a small laptop and it is much harder to edit my outgoing messages now. I need the To and CC etc buttons to all be as small as possible so that I can make meaningful technical emails with screenshots, and see as much of my message as possible.
The fact that you cannot scroll past the section with the message header means that there is no work-around.
I cannot imagine that any professional likes this new grade-school look.
I agree there is so much wasted space.

PLEASE bring back the 'sane' size of new message headers for "from" "to" "cc" "bcc". Half of the screen is dedicated to those lines.
