Provide a feature or revert the icon color to old one or provide different color icons for Office applications
Sorry to say but don't like the new icons especially the fact that Word and Outlook are both in blue shades they look to much the same when sitting side by side on the Taskbar - which if your background is also blue they just really don't stand out that well. Really they need to be at the least different colours for each Office Icon in order to stand out.
Something else that irks me is that Microsoft doesn't want to sell Office anymore; they want to rent it to you. When I was trying to find an Office cheaper than the 2019 versions, I was hoping to find a previous version. Turns out they aren't out there much and when they are, they are more expensive or at least just as expensive. One man at Microsoft was elated to tell me I could get what I wanted for only something like $6.98 per month. I said let's see.....$ 7 x 12 = $84 per year. I hope to live at least 10 more years so that would make it $840 I would be paying for it. I find this just blatently inexcusable.
I just don't get Microsoft sometimes. I mean, I love what they have invented and we get to use but often when they put something new in, it is worse than the old version. I started with Outlook Express and loved it particularly because it had stationery. They killed it and brought in Windows Live, I think it was. It had no stationery. How could this be called an upgrade or improvement? When they killed Windows Live, the new email they put in was even worse, forcing me to purchase Outlook. My sister has the same version as I have but she has color and icons in her folder pain; making it much more interesting; color is needed and icons make it interesting. I can fall asleep scrolling to a folder that starts with the letter W.....
This is exactly the same complaint I have since my company upgraded. I have some visual issues and rely on color to help me quickly navigate from one thing to another, and to keep track of what I have open. The yellow in the old 2010 version, which is what I had prior to the upgrade, was just fine. I also appreciated that the backgroud had a gray tint to it. I would have just kept 2010, which was working fine, but sadly didn't have a choice.
