Show the actual URL when hovering not safelinks.outlook.com
When I hover over a link in my email it shows me https://xyz.safelinks.outlook.com followed by the encoded URL it goes to. Or even better, provide the users an option or feature to disable or turn off Safe-links or ATP. Or at least provide an option to disable it.
This is no use to anyone! Show the actual URL it goes to. safelinks is an implementation detail.
It's been almost 3 years since this was originally posted, so I'm trying to bump it. Safelinks is a great idea in theory. In practice, the implementation was a collassal failure. It's only a feature if you blindly click links in your email without regard for whether they're legitimate or not. But it's 2020 and there are very few people that still do that. For the vast, vast majority, we are safer by turning Safelinks OFF. It can, and does, fail, so not being able to see the actual address of the links removes the ability for us to use our critical thinking skills to determine if a link is phishing. Rather than being a safety feature, Safelinks, for the majority, is a barrier that prevents safety.
Microsoft has a long history of making stupid, poorly thought out implementation decisions, and never fixing it when the masses tell them they did it wrong. So don't expect this to be fixed, just turn Safelinks off, and try to find a new email server.
Being in Australia and connecting to european servers for safelinks is a nightmare. With safelinks I hate having to click on links, and end up prefering people to send me links via other methods. I could of loaded and read the page a lot of times, quicker than the initial safelinks part. Please stop forcing it on people. If you want all the data about me and my family and friends and neighbours and pets and lost relatives, I will send you a backup of my pc each month in return.

Allow user to turn off URL pop up when mouse is moved overr a hyperlink. Very annoying for this to occur.

Please show the original link. It is far easier to recognize an original bad link than to deal with the aftermath of a failed safelink.
This has now been actioned. Mail clients should not show "Original URL" prefix before the original link, indicating that the link has been re-written

Option to disable ATP / safelinks in Microsoft Account without contacting support
They interfere with signup process of some websites because Microsoft opens the confirmation link to see if it is safe. That means it has expired when I click on it (it says it has already been used).

Not just the hover, but please just display the original link. The safelink urls are super long and ugly and mess up my emails. Not to mention they are hard to read.

They are working on this. It's in the Office 365 Roadmap. Feature ID 16401.
Removal of Safe Links Re-write for Outlook Client(s)
For users using Outlook, Safe Links will render the original URL and not show the re-written URL. This will enable users to view the original link that arrives in an email.
Estimated Release: February CY2018
Feature ID: 16401
Added to Roadmap: 09/01/2017

I like safelinks, but I also like to be able to see for myself what website is being linked to before I click the link.
Hopefully this, showing the original URL on hover, can be added to the safelinks concept.
Add a setting to allow the "safelinks" replacement in outlook.com emails to be disabled. This clutters up the email appearance in both emails that I send to other mail clients and also in emails that I receive. While I appreciate the security concept, it should really be up to me whether or not I want to have all of the links in my email replaced (and subsequently tracked) by Microsoft.
