Please revert (or give the option to revert) the changes made to the Outlook autocomplete email address list. For a user who sends emails to many addresses which start accounts@ or accountspayable@ or accounts.payable@* this change is a backwards step. Now we only see a few of the addresses and have to remember much more of the address we are looking for.

I relied heavily on being able to look up old addresses by scrolling through the list, since there are numerous people I only e-mail one or two times a year. I know who I have recently contacted, so that is useless information. Give me back my invaluable tool, and stop changing things that work!
I want to turn off "Recent People" but keep auto-complete. What a stupid change, and even stupider to not make it optional. Now, you have to deal with all these irate customers.

Cheers for adding the registry entry... ive seen bits of the solution on different sites and have found particular information on each, Can anyone here suggest a webspace where one can get a thorough and up to date knoledge on the inner workings this feature?
Retour en arrière, c'était mieux, merci

Why can Microsoft NOT get the Autocomplete Right?
Introduction of Suggested Contacts was a fail to fix the problems in 2007.
Now we have "other suggestions" which user cannot correct fawled entries at all. Another fail!.
It is bad enough that many user perceive the autocomplete as "their contacts" anyway - but to prevent them from deleting incorrectly entered address is ridiculous.
Novel Idea - just use the users saved contacts. At least included it in part of the autocomplete.
Think about - users would not perceive they "lose the contacts" when they move to different computer. Sure they could still have errors but they would be self reliant and could correct them. And the integrity of their actual contacts would be better..(they would be motivated to correct the wrong ones)

Just tried the regedit myself, What a life saver! Thanks Brian.
Brian's regedit fix worked like a champ. Thanks man, first round is on me if we ever meet...
To restore the old-style autocomplete, use Regedit.exe to make the item below (restart Outlook after):
Please fix this ASAP
Please revert (or give the option to revert) the changes made to the Outlook autocomplete email address list. This change has made finding addresses for mass emails daunting!
FIX THIS MICRSOSOFT.
It's actually ridiculous that this standard feature, used for 10s of years by Microsoft Office, has been removed with no option to revert. This needs addressed immediately.
Displaying only 5 suggestions is an embarrassment and giving our IT team daily grief. We are having to roll back hundreds of users to a previous build costing us thousands of pounds worth of time.
Help us out here Microsoft.

Our CEO has some 2000 contacts.
Our branches all have the company name + location as their user name. We are stuck on a previous build until this is fixed.
I used to get a whole list of people when I typed in just one letter. Now it only gives 5 email addresses. This needs to change NOW!! I do not remember everyone I need to send certain emails to until I see the name. Please get this changed back immediately!!
Please revert, it causes more problems than it solved for our company.

We are also facing this issue. There was no word on this being a change - and no word in any patch notes that this was applied. Absolutely unacceptable.
Thanks the lord they changed it back!!!!
