Fix Searching Outlook 2016
More than 90% of the time search will not find the mail while the Search text is word for word in the mail. Even worst is the fact that it finds mail that does not contains any words of the search box. Search also exclude additional mail boxes in my case the most
The system should have an independent way of keeping hashing totals for items so that search and other processes have to balance when they're run. After a rebuild of index How does one know if that's the right number? Search looks ok but how would I ever know if it was complete?
Its only been 3 years since the original question - yet not one update seems to have fixed this.
I am going to see if I can install Outlook 2010 - at least that search seemed to work well.

My e-posse moet dierek in my inboks gaan.
The "new" add account is totally useless. "Search for accounts"??? butt *** stupid. Outlook crashed. ended up adding thru control panel. Took me 30+ min for 5 min task. WHY does MS keep overdeveloping .

Advanced search is even worse. It cannot find anything: It shows ZERO results!
Actually fix your application (outlook) so the search actually works... it always fails to find anything. Terrible.
Using search on a Shared account will only work if I change the drop down from Current Mailbox to Subfolders.
OMG. How is a basic search engine so poor in 2019... I get no results all the time even if I just droped the email in the folder I'm looking in. Can't work with that, I mean this is a basic functionality, why MS struggles so hard wiith that? Google are years in advance with their search algorythms..
This needs an improvement now.
FIX SEARCH, Currently can find ****.
The search box in Outlook is horrible. If you type a word and hit enter, it selects the top word on the drop down list. Horrible!! Please fix this!

Outlook search is so broken,
what makes it even worse is that contact search doesn't work either
Outlook Client Quick Search has always been a problem and Microsoft is not even interested in solving it.
If they stopped one day and carried out tests they would realize that there is a problem and they would solve it.
Now the technicians say everything works beautifully.
I would like them to stay where I work for 3 days and see all the problems that Outlook has.
Microsoft is not interested in solving the problems.

The search feature in Outlook is the only thing that's worse than search in Windows.
As it is now, you have no clue what you will get back, if anything...it seem ind of random.
I can be looking at a mail in the inbox, copy a word in that mail, paste it in the search field, and then be told there are no messages that match the search criteria.
Until the guys creating the indexing service used by Outlook get their **** together, Outlook must implement a fallback based on a brute force foreach to make sure users of Outlook have a search they can trust.
Also, implement some way of telling the index system it is messed up and that it should repair itself.
Also, search all mailboxes should do just det, search all mailboxes, as it is now it doesn't search imap/pop3 mailboxes.
Had Outlook search issue was well and couldn't get it fixed, so contacted people at http://outlooksupport.4team.biz/ . Cant comment what they did but luckily issue got solved. They even connected to my computer remotely to get it fixed.
Just when I thought that the Search function could not get any worse, Microsoft surprised me. This morning, I find that Search is returning a gazillion hits beginning with the OLDEST. Hello! Why wouldn't it begin with the most recent one.

While searching for contacts we have to use 'Include Older Results' each every search action again. If we do not set this option most of our contacts cannot be found. Why is this? A contact doens't have a date or timestamp.
My customer cannot search Mails in shared mails which are older than the cache duration (6 months), mails on the Office 365 simply not showing up. On user mailboxes it works. Microsoft support said "this feature is not implemented". It is crucial to search mails which older than the cache duration. Turning off the Cache is not an option!
People are exhausted. When will you do this fixing?

Why does the search function not work in Outlook 2016? It's 20018!!! Microsoft should fix this.

Seriously, can we please get a quality search function. I'm staring at the email address for which I'm looking and the search results say there are none. This is a weekly order and there is tons of correspondence, yet, there are no results in All Mailboxes, or All Outlook Items, or anywhere. This whole process is terrible and a waste of time. Including this complaint.
