Groups conversation inline thread reply layout
It would be so much better if the Office 365 group conversation layout were that of a thread with inline replies, for example, I sometimes want to insert a reply right under an other colleagues message, and not at the very bottom of the conversation.
That would make things much more helpful!
The Reply button should perform this function as at the moment it is misleading one into thinking that it will reply to the conversation thread when in fact it just replies to the user himself.
I had a rather embarrassing situation at work today because of this as I thought that my reply would go to all members of the conversation when in fact it only went to the user himself and then I had to post the whole thing to the group all over again.

Right now even if we configure a display with no grouping, when we save the display it resets the parameter to grouping by thread.

If an incoming email is in HTML format, there is no way to use the Internet-standard inline reply style -- Outlook only supports top-posting.
It wouldn't be so bad if there were just some way to "break" the blue line by unindenting or similar as used to be possible in older versions of Outlook, but this doesn't work.
The only option that works is to convert the message to plain-text, but this loses the formatting entirely and also fails to insert > characters to quote the original message as it would if the original message had been plain text.
This is not a new problem and over the years various people have made add-ins to try to work around it, but inevitably those don't work in newer versions of Outlook either.

We often respond inline to questions and we have to add formatting (name between parenthesis and text color change) to highlight our responses. This formatting should be done automatically. You could add a cool timeline view as well.
