More options for Tasks in Hosted Exchange environment in Outlook 2016
We don't see any focus by Microsoft on the task functionality for years. Yes you acquired wunderlist but never integrated it into your proven business tools like Microsoft Outlook Client. Also I constantly have task sync issues where changes on one device don't sync to the other one even though using hosted exchange with the most recent version. In addition it is shocking to notice Microsoft dropped tasks functionality on Windows Phone 10. This is hard to believe in regards to it as a business tool. Now Android and iOS have much better exchange tasks support then Windows.

There should be a professional task management available including collaborative functions assigning tasks and subtasks to teams and subteams. The current setup is really poor.

If somebody is creating a new Task in Outlook, and does not set a begin- and enddate, there is no way to find out, when this Task was created and who has created it.
I think that this information is surely saved somewhere, but at the moment there isnt any way to get to that simple and standard information. -

I rely heavily on tasks (as many of my collegues do) but find the functionality in outlook wanting. With the recent unveiling of ToDo, perhaps Microsoft could integrate it with Outlook (ideally as modifications to the existing tasks functionality, or as an add-in). Integrate ToDO, Planner, some features from WunderList...all into outlook in the tasks feature. Please...Please.....Please

one example where the outlook tasks features could be improved: the task details / comments field should be in html just like for Emails

its really a shame that microsoft doesnt provide the possibility to sync tasks with "windows 10 mobile". They say the platform focuses on business and this feature is essential for business customers!

i also dont understand why windows 10 mobile cant sync outllook tasks. This is really a joke Microsoft wants to focus on the business with win 10 mobile and does not provide this option which realy many business users need

It is beyond me that Microsoft hasn't incorporated this yet. I know SO many people who want this, but it just goes under the radar...

Syncing Task on Windows Mobile 10 should be a no-brainer (it worked in Windows Mobile 8.1)

MS is always talking a lot about productivity etc. but in the end nothing really improved within the last years. A little UI changes here and there but no big changes. It's cool to acquire Wunderlist and LinkedIn but then what comes next? I don't really know what they want to achieve still. There seems little customer focus and long term vision in their product teams respectively their leaders. Only the innovators will succeed - the ones who are not afraid to try new things. MS made it possible with the Surface brand. For now I keep my expectations at a minimum...

Totally agree. Its clear as daylight what Microsoft can do to evolve tasks in outlook. Bring the Wunderlist engineers over to the tasks/to-list team. There should be leveraging office instead of having all these separate apps which are confusing and frustrating the heck out of users!!

All of my Outlook settings should sync with the exchange server so other computers with Outlook (including Mac) look and behave the same. This should've been done a long time ago. What are you guys doing in Redmond?

Wunderlist for Outlook won't even initialize here...
The way Microsoft is loosing out on task management is just sad. My solution is to have Wunderlist for Win 10 open in 20 percent of my screen and Outlook 2016 open in 80 percent. That way I at least get some task management between my PC and my Android Phone. Generaly managing tasks has become way easier on my Android Phone than on my Win 10 (Surface Pro 3) computer. On my Android Phone I am able to send everything to Wunderlist. On my computer Outlook feels outdated and neither Office Store nor Windows 10 Store seems up to date with the consumer friendliness of Google Play. -

Make tasks management a first-class entity in Outlook/Exchange, where it enables tracking what things needs getting done in one place, where a task lists and related tasks to be managed from the one tool everyone has open most of time, Outlook. OneNote is useful, but not a replacement for actionable items and tracking tasks, task dependencies, and tasks that requires multiple steps to completions.

Windows 10 Phone and no Task or To Do list from my Office 365 subscription. And also no Lists from the Exchange Server from our company. I can edit it on my Surface Pro 4 in my Office 365 Desktop and I even can work on the lists on Outlook online. I can work on the lists on the Desktop in our office. I can work on lists in Office 365 online. It was working under Windows 8 Phone. But not on my Windows 10 Mobile phone. Cloud first? Yes. Mobile first? No. Why? It is not used much by consumer clients. They are the majority. See Groove. Why is it not used by business? Because it was never very useful on Windows Phone or any other platform. Tyranny of the majority.
