Add search field for folders when moving items to another folder
In Outlook 2016: I have many new incoming mails every day from different people with different topics. All mails of one topic should be placed in one specific folder but not in "Incoming". So I have a huge number of subfolders in my post office box. Actually, I pick one or more mail(s) from "Incoming" an place them e.g. in the folder "Verbesserungsvorschläge". Because of the huge numer of folgers and subfolder, I need some time to find the folder "Verbesserungsvorschläge". So I thought about to use the function "Element verschieben" ("Move element" or something like that). But there I have the same problem. I need too much time to find the destination folder.
My idea of improvement:
A search field integrated in "Move" to find the destination folder by typing the first letters of the destination folder, e.g. I type "Verb" and the intelligent serch lists me the results "Verbesserungsvorschläge" and "Verbesserungswesen". Than, I can select my favorite destination folder an press OK. The mail from the "Incoming folder" has moved to the folder "Verbesserungsvorschläge" and I saved much time without manual searching by eyes.
Also, when moving between folders, especially mail folders, make the default cursor location the search box, so I can start typing my search immediately.
Search field in folders window - when there are a lot of folders with e.g. companies names it takes too long to find the right one, there should be search window above them to facilitate finding.
The space between folders should be smaller.

On the online portal AND in the MAC Version of Outlook there is the ability when you file an email to type the folder name, why is this not available in the Windows version?

Sorry i did not read all comments on thread but does not Outlook for MAC has this function? Whats bizarre is that out of so many limitations of outlook for MAC as compared to outlook for windows, this is one item that does not exist in Outlook for windows...
When finding the E-mail by right click "Find Related" and sorted "By Folder", the related E-mails show them by Folder, but add a feature to MOVE or DRAG the E-mail to any folder right from the "Results" screen, instead of manually looking for that particular folder in the tree.
It would be nice if when you click on the move tool on the ribbon, a drop down box with all your folders would show up, along with a search box to type the name of the folder you are trying to move an email to. Currently the list of 10 last used is not enough, and the search is very cumbersome.
If the window "Move Items" is open, just start typing the folder name. There is no dedicated search field.
Requirements : all folders have to be unfolded (use * on the top entry) - this is what MS has to change.
Outlook is searching top > down, if you have similar entries you have to type twice...

Que al mover carpetas (click botón derecho, mover) se incluya un buscador por nombre
When moving folders (right click, move) a search engine is included by name.

Don't understand why this feature isn't available for Windows when it is available via Mac OS X, IOS, and Outlook Web.

Currently there's no possibility to search by folder name when you're moving an email to a folder, which makes this complicated if you have a big folder structure to organize your emails.
This process could be much simpler by adding a "search forlder" feature that allows you to introduce a text to find the desired folder.

on my tablet I have much more functionality in moving an email to the correct folder... the magnifying glass option comes up and its easier to move the email. On my desktop/laptop I have to scroll through my files on the left to drag and drop. Please give me the search option on my computer!!

Add option to search for destination folder when filing emails (the mobile app has this functionality)

The inbox Move functionality in the office desktop app is very inflexible. The "Other Folder" dialog cannot be resized, doesn't provide easy access to favorites, and provides no type-ahead or predictive text functionality. The only flexibility it provides is that it keeps the last 10 folders in the drop-down history which often isn't enough. The Move message functionality in Outlook.com provides all the functionality needed. If it could somehow be replicated to the Outlook desktop client, that would be perfect.
Just needs to copy the functionality in the current web version!
Move the emails into a folder by choosing the folder with the option "search" the folder and not by a drop down list. This feature already exists in Outlook iOS app.
Move Conversation - Search "Field"
Please make the drop-down window for Moving eMails to folders longer than 9 most-recent folders... Everyday i post eMails to at least 25 different folders and it is very time consuming to constantly go back to folders i used in the morning (as others respond in the afternoon)

We need to be able to search folder names! Please add a search bar and/or highlight folders with related keywords when you open an email.
When you have various folders on your inbox and you want to move some email from your inbox to one of these folders, not look for the folder manuallyin your structure of folders, it can be perfect if it exist a little search engine that you can search automatically the name of the folder listing the folders that have the words or letters you put on the search motor, and not to look for it on the structure.
Idea was shared in January 2016, what's taking you so long?
Ease the organization of emails accordingly with designated folders by the user
It would be nice to have a search bar in the move tab to search for folders. With massive amounts of folders, it is hard to find the location of the folder. This feature is already in Outlook for IOS
