Add more calendar meeting availability options under show as
Currently, appointments show as free, tentative, busy, working elsewhere, work from home, or out of office. My company has a lot of virtual workers but we do come to the office from time to time. Sometimes, we want to meet face to face so it would be great if the out of office status could be subdivided into Out of Office - Free and Out of Office- Busy. This would allow me to set out of office as a way to indicate I will not be in the office but can make virtual meetings.
Adding the ability to have customised 'Show As' text and colours would be useful.

It's 2020. We Have Office 2019. Still have the same fixed 'show as' options as Office 95.

Please add the ability to change or add a category to the "Show as..." beyond, Free, Working Elsewhere, Tentative, Busy, Out of Office.

I've added my vote to this idea but want to clarify that I'm voting for the ability to CUSTOMIZE the "Show as" options. While reading all the comments it's clear there are different needs for many organizations. Thanks!
The new version of Outlook Calendar on the Web is inconvenient when it comes to selecting "Free" and "Private." The Classic version allowed me to just click a couple of toggles. Now I have to go to the "Show as" tab, select "Free", then return to the "Show as" tab again to select "Free." How does that improve efficiency?

When responding as Tentative to a meeting, the "Yes, I might attend" still sends a firm tentative and positive message that one will attend unless something else comes up. An option for "I'm not going to make unless my other thing is cancelled", coined as unlikely or a soft tentative, can offer a more realistic response.

Or just show AWAY. I have personal appts on my calendar and want to show that I am AWAY.

I agree that this is a much needed option. We have two main offices about 50 miles apart. People travel between the two offices. It would be ideal if at the company level we can define this to be able to show where we will be working, but not block the time.

Please provide the "Working Elsewhere" status in the OSX and iOS versions of Outlook. I'm a Windows user but use iOS and my boss uses a Mac and iPhone. In the Mac platform, it seems the "Working Elsewhere" status puts me as busy. This is bad.

This would help A LOT as I work remotely on random days of the week. Some days it is just better to schedule a meeting when we are all there in person. Difficult to show that when the calendar does not have a feature to show which days you are not physically in!!!!

In calendar events, add a color with a title to display Telework. Or to be able to create some.

This thread is over 2 years old now. Has Microsoft considered this at all? It would be a nice feature to add a custom option at the least. This would benefit our support/deployment groups so when we have a scheduled code deployment it doesn't show us "In a Meeting"
We used several products now (Skype Business, Microsoft Teams) that are integrated with the Outlook Calendar. Skype USED to have a custom availability before they merged with Microsoft.
Having the ability to set a status color and a custom message at the least would benefit a lot. This option shouldn’t be too hard to add in.

I defintely think it would be beneficial to be able to add some custom options in the "Show as" availabilities. We have some interns who are part time and it would be helpful when adding meetings to see when they are available to work. This way they could put their "In office" hours in so everyone would know when they will be here.

When I check somebody else's calendar to schedule a new meeting, I can see the available times; however, most of the times I cannot see the meeting locations for privacy reasons. It would be better if I could see that person's previous meeting is "in the office" or s/he is somewhere else "outside of the office". So that I could send the meeting request considering the travel time back to the office.
Can we get an update on this from Microsoft? This seems to be a critical element to the growing mobile, networked, and webconnected environment. Must we go to Calendly?

Ability to add more option in the « show as » like « work from home » will be a great feature.
