  1. Compose window entry fields for TO and CC are way bigger than text label in latest update to Microsoft Outlook 2016.

The entry fields for TO and CC are taller than the spacing of their labels to the left. This leaves less vertical space for the Subject entry field (both not aligned to its label, as well as narrower than the TO & CC fields), and looks very sloppy. Please revert it to the older format or provide an option to select between the new and old format.

  2. Search At The Top Option

Please allow users to choose whether to use Search at the Top or keep the search bar in the legacy location.

  3. Enable Immersive Reader in Outlook client

Immersive Reader is a cool feature and it is more advanced than the "Read aloud" feature available in Outlook client.
It would be better to have Immersive reader feature available in outlook client too.

  4. "Busy" color in Scheduling Assistant

In the recent version of Outlook which has the "Simplified Ribbon", it appears that the color of the bar representing "Busy" in the calendar Scheduling Assistant screen has been changed. Busy used to be bright blue, whereas Out of Office was a darker color. Now, with the new changes, as a colorblind person I can no longer tell these two apart. They both look like the same exact color. Now I cannot easily tell when someone is busy vs out of office. Please revert the "busy" color back to a lighter color.

  5. More color options like the online version has

Would like to see more color options for themes like the online version has. The limited options all look kind of bleak and don't give room for a personal touch.

  6. Multi column outlook: email and calendar side by side

As ultra-wide screens are becoming more popular, it'd be good that outlook allowed to have the email functionality and the calendar functionality side by side.
Something similar to the to-do tab but the real thing: multiple calendars, add meetings, change meetings,...

  7. Automatically Minimize To Tray On Launch

There should have the option to automatically minimize to tray on launch for Outlook. Most applications have this feature. I feel it is a security risk and also highly disruptive that Outlook pops up on screen whenever it updates while I'm in the middle of coding or trying to have a discussion with a coworker.

  8. option to open folder where message is stored

It would be great to have an option to open the folder where the message is stored.
So you open a message and within this message you can click on "see in folder" like on MS File explorer.

This would be particularly useful for search result lists...

  9. Add ability to add "Paste and keep text only” shortcut to Quick Access Toolbar

In every other office 365 application except Outlook, there is the option to add "Paste and keep text only” shortcut to Quick Access Toolbar.

Please make this option available in Outlook.

  11. Share to Teams button in desktop Office Apps (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)

Add a Share to Teams button in Word, Excel, PPT to share the document in a channel or chat to skip the multi step of saving it on a local drive, then uploading. Additionally saving the extra step of emailing it, downloading it or copying it, then adding it back to teams.

  12. Allow resizing of the Reminders popup window.

I want to be able to see more than 8 reminders in 1 screen. I know there is a task page in the outlook client, but it is very convenient to be able to see more reminders in the popup window

  13. To-do Bar location

I use Outlook on a monitor in the portrait orientation. I would like to put the to-do bar on the bottom of the page.

  14. Make the banner indicating you are not responding to the latest email more visible.

I would like to see the banner when replying to an email that is not the latest in the email thread to be more visible. In addition to this, a prompt forcing to click an acceptance box when trying to send the email could be helpful.

  15. Automatic Phone Number Detection

WHY DOES MY IDEA KEEP GETTING DELETED?

Allow a user to click any phone number in any email to dial.

Automatically detect phone numbers in plain text emails, and convert them to clickable links (with the TEL: prefix).

Many modern mail applications already utilise this (especially on mobile apps like Gmail to avoid the tedious select, copy, switch app, paste, dial).

Many modern offices utilise SIP phones which can facilitate call requests.

  16. Accept/Tentative/Decline Appointment request from within Reading Pane

Add buttons to Accept/Tentative/Decline an Appointment request within the Reading Pane view, instead of having to open the Appointment request to respond.

In Outlook version 1902, this ability does not exist. I am certain that this feature was available in earlier versions of Outlook.

  17. Remove or resize the Categories and Mention fields in Attach Outlook Item dialog

Added a way to permanently remove or resize the Categories and Mentions field on the Attach Outlook Item dialog. There is nothing in these fields and it just hides the interesting fields like subject and from. It consumes half of the dialog.

  18. Collapsable Meeting Details

The new outlook update made the meeting details (attendees, time, location, etc) take up over 50% of the screen with no option to collapse it. This means that many cannot see the content of the meeting invite, especially when there is a table or graphic which is being discussed.

  19. Need 2 features: [spell check toggle on toolbar] and [add all words in selected text to custom dictionary]

Need two features to support people who write technical stuff:

    1. A toolbar toggle for spellcheck to hide the red squiggles when I am pasting a list of server names into an email.

    2. The ability to select a block of text and add all words in it to my custom dictionary.

  20. Quick access (Alphabet letter quick jump) to Inbox subfolders

My list of Inbox sub-folders is exceptionally long and I spend EVERY DAY scrolling excessively up and down to access various Inbox folders. It would be a HUGE HELP to provide me with quick-jump letters (e.g., A, B, C, D...Z) so I could jump to a section more quickly without so much scrolling.
