  1. Add action buttons to Toast notifications in Outlook

The Mail app on Windows 10 has options for "Mark as Read" or "Delete" in the toast notification when new mail comes in - why doesn't Outlook 2016? This would be a great feature to add (especially if the actions can be customized). Also Timed do not disturb that will stop toast/desktop notifications for new mail items. This enables you to not be disrupted when focus is needed without the need to have to re-enable desktop notifications.

  2. Remove extra whitespace under AutoPreview text in non-Compact Mode

If you turn on AutoPreview in Outlook 2016 and the message list is in its wide mode, each message or conversation has about half a line of empty white space under each message's AutoPreview text.

I use 1-line AutoPreview, so this extra space steals over 10% of the available vertical space in the message list!

    To repro:
    1) while viewing inbox, turn off preview pane or move it to the bottom
    2) maximize outlook so that it will switch to its "wide" mode with sender and subject on the same line
    3) turn on auto-preview and set it to 1…

  3. Outlook format

Making the email background grey instead of bright white, and putting back the lines underling each email for easier reading.

  4. Introduce a contact manager in Outlook 2016

There should be a contact manager in Outlook.

    Features to include...

    1. Detect duplicate addresses

    2. Graphically display a contact and where it's data come from

    3. Consolidate contacts

    4. Full drag&dropp support of EVERYTHING even when multi selecting

    5. Be aware of all my devices and which contacts those devices have

    6. Be aware of all sources for contacts from any system, application, program, server from Microsoft (example: Skype, Skype for business, AD, Exchange, Windows, Outlook, SharePoint, One Drive, Personal Address Book-PAB in outlook, Dynamics and so on)

  5. Option to print only selected text in an email in Microsoft Outlook 2016

An option to an email's contents and then only print the highlighted item in Microsoft Outlook 20106 would be beneficial. At present, you can only print the whole email.

  8. Replace "Reply, Reply All, Forward" or the "Discard, Pop out" buttons back to to left.

They are now on the upper right hand corner, whereas before they were on the left.
On large, widescreen monitors, these are never in your direct line of sight and are "hidden" out of sight in the upper right hand corner.

  9. Provide more options of using color backgrounds on notifications or Give option to use the OLD outlook color scheme and layout

Provide more options of using color backgrounds on notifications in Microsoft Outlook 2016 for To-Do Pane notifications of upcoming meetings/events.

Or give option to use the OLD outlook color scheme and layout.

Also, border Style – allow users to change the border style as part of the “backgrounds” and “themes” settings. The window border style in Office 365 is less distinct than office 2010 (I was just upgraded from Office 2010). I find it difficult to differentiate between overlapping windows – especially when an email message window is completely enclosed by the Outlook window. I have been using Outlook for…

  11. Please add “new Journal Entry” to options for adding to “quick tool bar”.

You should be able to track your daily task, accomplishments and meetings...to see your set goal and elaboration self fulfillment even emoji expression to represent inanimate object or feelings or pictures of the day or places frequented. Lots of self data.

Also, being able to pull up a history of contacts, their emails, docs relevant to that contact and notes in a timeline summary area like Journal is efficient to use and helpful for researching past contact activity. This is especially true for the self employed. Please bring back these features!

Also, please add “new Journal Entry” to options for…

  12. Enlarging the type in the reading pane

It IS possible to change the size of the type. You simply hold down the CTRL key and then move the scroll wheel on the mouse either one way (to reduce) or the other (to enlarge) to change the size.

  13. Removing folders

Give us the ability to remove folders we don't use. Many of us do not use the "group", "conversations" or various other folders that Outlook automatically installs and will let us delete. Users should be able to remove any folder they don't want.

  14. Adjust Outlook performance to handle super-delegate scenarios

Microsoft states that it has not tested delegate scenarios beyond a 1 to 4 ratio of delegate to managers, also known as the super-delegate scenario. Some guidance is provided on ways to handle super-delegate scenarios in this TechNet Blog post:

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/officeresourcekit/2012/12/17/recommendations-for-configuring-delegate-scenarios-in-outlook-2010/

Unfortunately, this post does not go far enough towards addressing a need to scale to larger delegate scenarios (think 1 to 40 or greater) and the performance hit to Outlook synchronization that is seen as the ratio increases.

In a super-delegate scenario, the delegate (or team of delegates) opening a manager’s mailbox will change day-to-day and as…

  15. Bring back Skype user status info inside popup form (instead of drill-down)

In the latest update Skype info popup has been changed. Although it looks nice user now has to perform several clicks to see user Skype status. Before it was easy, you just had to put mouse pointer over user name to get user Skype/Lync status (Busy, Out of the office, Aways etc.).
Checking user status is one for the most frequently used actions most Outlook users perform. It gets annoying to open popup for each user then press expand button and then repeat that like 10 times, specially when you want to check many users status quickly inside email To/From…

  16. Print PDF without downloading or opening

Perhaps right clicking on a PDF file to print instead of downloading or opening. Would save a LOT of time.

  17. Moving messages to folders with drop down list is too slow

Moving Messages with Drop-down list - Previously the entire list of folders was immediately available to scroll down. Now, only the first few folders appear, and you must click <more> and wait for the full list of folders to populate. Too slow and time consuming! Recent folders at top of list is not really helpful. Bring back the previous drop down feature.

  20. IMAP categories

Allow categories for IMAP email messages; this can be with local folder category settings or using the categories of a connected Exchange/MAPI folder if it is selected as the default folder.

I'm trying to switch to Inbox Zero, but since a unified Inbox is not really possible because I do not get Send As delivery of connected accounts in Outlook.com, I can at least use color categories in my IMAP accounts.
