Disable Sorting search by folder as default
I use search extensively. Every, single, time, I have to arrange search results by date rather than folder manually, because the default is "arrange by folder". (Right click on "All↓" under the quicksearch bar. I have hundreds of folders, I assume this feature is useful for certain people, but not being able to change the default behavior is strange to say the least, it's such a specific customization either way...why offer the options if you can't change the default.

As a result, repeatedly we need to add columns which we prefer / require.1 vote -
Share the prepared personal Search-Folders with your Outlook Co-users/Assistants orenable searching of shared folders, including sub-folders
In our Company it is quite common that Assistants and Supervisors share access to one Outlook-Account.
For the time beeing those constellations are dependant on regular folder-structures to organize one Email-Inbox as they tend to have at least the last 14 Days of emails in the inbox. Both people need a organisational guideline of emails and the (at least for us) newly introduced Search-Folders are currently "owner-only" visible. So the suggestion is simply said that the Search-folders should as well be shared when a supervisor decides to share his inbox with his assistant. Please make this available as the search-folder-infrastructure…

Support Full Search Capabilities when Outlook is running in elevated mode
Outlook Search is not working when Outlook has to run with adminstrator privileges. There should be an option to enable this as other programs require Outlook to run elevated - like e.g. Microsoft Visual Studio (!).

Simply search.
Simplify search. A.Click on a mail. B.Click in the search box. C.Click on "From" and it automatically populates the senders name from A.
Even better, click on a mail and click from (not currently displayed however).

Smarter Outlook 2016
- Would like to easily follow up on emails. I imagine my ability to set a reminder on an email I send - a reminder only I see - that keeps me informed and warns me after X days of my choice, whether I received a reply or not. This is some next-step ML similar to checking if the body of an email contained the keyword "attach" and then remind me I've forgotten to add one. I could say "please do this by Friday", and Outlook will remind me on Friday that "this activity should be done by Friday by this…

Category Doesn't Display In Search Results
It's important to be able to search for specific inbox content then categorize by it. The search results list doesn't reflect the category (incorrectly shows empty category for all results) so it's very difficult to do this best practice, which is called out in many forums and books, including MS content. Please fix!

Fix your search in all mail boxes folder!!!! Viewing as conversations is not suitable at all!
Bring back the ability to search in all mail boxes without having to show as conversations! This is very inconvenient for business owners!

In Outlook for Windows build 8625.2127, the search results view is missing the sender. Instead of showing the sender, the results list shows nothing.

search all outlook items default
In search options, currently you can set the default "Include results only from:" to one of; Current Folder, Current Folder. Current mailbox when searching from the inbox, Current mailbox or All mailboxes. However all of these defaults only search the item type pertinent to the folder in which the search is initiated. For example, if you initiate a search in the inbox folder, only email are searched for, in contacts only contacts etc. This means that to search all outlook items you have to search from inbox only and then pull down to select each time you search, which is…

Add a search option for items that are expired
Please consider adding an option to search for items that are marked as expired from a retention policy under the "+ More" search options. The option to search for items that are expiring in a time period are helpful, but I believe it would add even more value to the search to be able to pull up expired items.
Thanks!

Allow deletion of emails from search results
It would be mighty useful to be able to delete emails from search results. I was able to do this is older versions. Also there is currently no way to select all emails from a search result on the portal. If you have hundreds of emails to delete it cannot be done via the portal. Please add a select all function to the email search results. Thanks

Add the ability to filter out Drafts in Emails that was sent if they were combined in a single folder.
a PSTfile can contain thousands of drafts and sent Email, especially in the purges, filtering them out manually can prove to be a tedious tas, so far I couldn't find a filter or a query that can filter out drafts or Emails that has not been actually sent apart from the actual search items.

Provide the ability for "search folders" to combine/aggregate the results from other "search folders".
At times combining the search criteria for "search folders" I use regularly can be become so long and complex I struggle to get the "search folder" results I need.
It would great to be able to split this complex search criteria across 2 or more "search folders" reducing the search logic complexity for those individual "search folders" and have the ability for another "search folder" to simply aggregate the results of those less complex and more easily maintained search folders.
While there are good tools to build complex search criteria for "search folders", there are certainly some limitations. Thanks!

Provide a feature to add an internal subject matter to track emails with relevance not stated in subject line in Microsoft Outlook 2016
For example, I am an accountant. Many of our clients are large families and we communicate with their financial advisor only. We receive email updates throughout the year related to multiple family members. The subject line the advisor chooses may be the family's last name but the subject matter within the email may be multiple things such as estimated taxes and changes to payments, letters from governmental agencies, new addresses, purchases and sales, etc. The problem I have is by the time we are ready to prepare a tax return in October we may have 15 emails out of 150…

Double click to open messages from the search results
In inbox view, a double-click on a message opens it in a new window, but not from search results.
Double click should open the message like it did in previous versions of Outlook.
