Add an ongoing availability schedule for staff details (not just a weekly view)
In the staff details with availability, instead of having a set schedule of one week for setting availability, it would be more helpful to have an ongoing calendar where you can change the staff person's availability for certain days and times. There are times when a regular schedule applies, but other times when it's just easier to block out certain days and times that don't flow with the regular schedule. Then you don't have to worry about people still being able to schedule because something was missed on your synced calendar because you can adjust it based on the actual day (not just the same day of the week). (See calendly for a good example.)
And that would also help for when a colleague stopts being available for a certain task within a larger company but remains available for another. Now, there is only the option of 'leave' or 'abscence' but that blocks a person's agenda completely, while you only want to block a certain type of appointments. For us it would help if we can change the availability of a person for a longer period of time (a year for instance).

We work with freelancers. They sometimes work for us. We need to switch their availability off or on for certain periods. Sometimes it's a few days on which their work on certain days and times and sometimes they don't work for us for a couple of months.
This is very important for us as all other workarounds don't work properly for us.
