RESOURCE or ROOM ELEMENT is necessary to see availabilty of the phisical location
Hotel Spa for instance needs to know what staff is on schedule but also and EQUALLY important, the available rooms for the services... this is NECESSARY for a booking.
Tenis for example, where you have limited pists, you must be able to book depending on the "resource" availability and not the staff availability.
This will bring on the request of a RESOURCE or ROOM calendar view, which as explained, can be even more important than the staff view calendar in many case scenarios.
It looks like MS has implemented this, that is; I can select a ROOM or RESOURCE but when I try to save it Bookings everytime shows the message "Your request can't be completed right now. Please try again later." I've created anTicket at MS Support and their final response was:
"Thanks for sharing your Screen earlier today [NAME]. I have just been able to replicate the issue on my end, the exact same issue happens to me too. I have also tested with other similar accounts like shared mailboxes (account without formal licenses) too, it has the same issue. However full users work without a hitch.
I ran the issue by our escalations team, they reported that this is by design due to the type of account that it is. Bookings is still a new product within the Office 365 family and its development is still it infancy, therefore I would highly recommend raising a post within our Bookings UserVoice, this allows customers and users to highlight and bring attention to the Bookings development team functions and features they want to be added. "
So a bug becomes a feature?
I agree, we are trialing the use of the system for Staff/Students. Although being able to book staff time is great, we then have to manually find and book a room for the meeting/interview/chat to take place.
