  1. book appointments for multiple days

My business requires multi-day appointments most of the time. Allow time-span appointments. For example: if a job is going to take 4 days, allow the customer to book the time of day they need, say 8am-5pm Mon-Thursday if those times are open on the schedule. If not, send an email to me and my customer for further information, sometimes we can overlap appointments...

We are happy to let you know that we recently completed work that lets you set up services that either last all day or that span multiple days. This feature was widely requested by Bookings customers and, if it’s not already available for you, it will soon be available for all Bookings customers to try.

To find the controls that let you set up an all-day or multi-day service first, log into Bookings and click into the Service details page. On that page you’ll see a new “Days” picker under the “Default duration” section of the page – next to the “Hours” and “Minutes” pickers. If you do not see this feature, please try back in a few days… it can take a few weeks for new features to get out to everyone. If you do see it, you can use it to set the number of days, hours, or…

  2. Accept payments for bookings

Since you have the feature for what type of payment is required for the booking, you should provide a mechanism to actually accept payments via Stripe, PayPal, etc.

We recently completed work that allows you to collect payment from your customers through Microsoft Bookings. At this time, this set of features is only available to customers in North America (we plan to roll-out it more broadly in the future). It is also only currently available to customers whose Office 365 “Release preferences” are set to “Targeted release for everyone” or “Targeted release for selected users”.

To learn more about targeted release please see this support article:

    https://support.office.com/article/Set-up-the-Standard-or-Targeted-release-options-in-Office-365-3b3adfa4-1777-4ff0-b606-fb8732101f47

If you are in North America and have your Office 365 release preferences set to one of the targeted release options described above, you will be able to accept payments through Bookings.

    This article explains how:

We hope this proves to be a useful feature for you. Thank you.

  3. Create a multiple day event

Be able to create an event that spans multiple working days such as a 3-day workshop that can be buffered for multiple days.

By navigating to the “Booking Page” section in the web version of Bookings, you can now specify the text you want the customer to consent to before making a booking through the booking page.

As before, any privacy policy and / or terms of service URLs that have been set in the “Business Information” section will also be included on the booking page.

If you still have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us through the feedback link in the product.

    Thanks,

The first iteration of custom questions and required field controls are available now to all Bookings users. You can add custom fields and control which questions are required on the booking form by clicking into Service details from the Services page and then clicking Modify.

We are marking this idea as “completed” but we plan to continue to work to provide more custom question types for you to choose from. The following article explains in more detail how to add custom questions to Bookings and how to choose which fields are required for your customers:

Thank you again for your interest in Microsoft Bookings and for your feedback.

  6. Form

Integrate a robust, customizable form (something flexible and user friendly like Google or Sharepoint Forms) into Bookings so the business can collect necessary information regarding the scheduled appointment.

  8. Let me require that my customers provide a valid credit card when they book me

Add functionality to Bookings that lets me require that my customers enter valid credit card information at the time of making a booking. No charge is made to the customers' credit card at the time of booking but it proves they have a valid credit card with sufficient available credit.

Sharing this update with you because you expressed interest in requiring that a customer provide a valid credit card when booking with you. 9. Let me require a partial payment up-front when my customers book me

Add functionality to Bookings that lets me require that my customers to make a partial payment for a service at the time of making a booking. This is the same as requiring the customer to partially pay, up-front, in order to be able to book your business' time.

  11. Allow me to specify which fields are required on the booking page

Some businesses don't require an email address but instead require a phone number. Bookings should let the business choose which fields are required from the customers making a booking online.

  13. Support "buffer time" pre and post booking

There are cases where a business needs time before and after seeing a customer to handle a few tasks. Travel, clean-up, prep-work are all good examples.

Allow the business to specify the buffer time either side of a booking.

  14. Allow time periods that are greater than minutes - days or week.

Our company provides hourly, day long and multiday software training sessions. The day long and multiday sessions can be at our office site or at the customer location. I put in 480 minutes for daylong session but that looks silly.

I’m happy to let you know that we recently completed work that gives you more control over bookable time increments in Bookings. More specifically, we made two changes – first, we added more pre-set time increments for you to choose from (from 5 mins to 4 hours with several choices in between), and second, we added a “Custom” control that lets you specify the bookable time increment for your customers. These features were widely requested by Bookings customers and, if they not both already available for you, they will soon be available to try in our Web app. Please note that these features are still in development for our iOS and Android apps and will ship in the coming months.

You can find the new controls that let you pick the needed booking increment in two places in the Web app. They appear on the “Booking page” page, next to…

Hi all, the feature has completed rolling out and you should see a new checkbox for each staff member in the staff details form to turn the feature on. More detailed instructions are here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Sync-staff-s-personal-calendar-with-Microsoft-Bookings-23ee9b4c-0241-40ff-b663-67a309c378f8

Thank you for your feedback and interest in this feature. We recently delivered functionality (what we call “custom fields”) to Bookings that will address some of the needs you’ve shared in your comments. Specifically, this new functionality lets you add text boxes to the booking page, and to the booking form, that can include custom labels of up to 256 characters. For some of you, this will suffice for providing a customer with specific instructions associated with a specific service.

Here’s a link to a support article that goes it greater detail about this functionality and how to find it and use it:

    https://support.office.com/article/Add-custom-and-required-questions-to-the-Booking-page-fd6b7587-5055-4bcd-83a4-13bd4929bfff

Some of you though are asking for the ability to customize the email sent to your customers once they book with you… if this is what you wanted to see us build, please visit this page and add your vote:
