The all day event setting behavior for a new calendar item in Outlook on the web
The meeting room which has been booked for a certain period of time would be shown as an available room when we need a room to book for all day event.
Room A was booked: -
1) 27th Aug from 12:30 to 13:30
2) 27th Aug from 15:30 to 17:00.
When I try to book a room as all day event and if start/end time was already set at time before the existing event; in this case from 8:00 to 8:15, the Room A would be shown as one of available rooms in the room suggestion option. Then I can select the room and send the request.
However, Room A mailbox replies a message to decline the event as the room has already been booked.
I would request an improvement for synchronization behavior with the available hour of a room to be reflected to room options set by an event requester.
For your record, I have already known that if I set the meeting time which is overwrapped with the existing calendar item and select the all day event box, the Room A wouldn’t be shown as available location or meeting room to add.
I think this is because the default status of an all day event is 'free'. I am voting for this request because i dont think the default all day status should be free. I have ended up in a room for an hour meeting when the room had been booked as all day. The booking was accepted because all day is status free.
