I want to share calendar with the option, that private dates are shown only as "busy" without showing the details. I can't understand how people are interested to share everything without option to hide some dates?
When a calendar is shared by someone who is hidden in the GAL, it cannot be opened the calendar on Outlook(for Desktop).
Essentially, the Exchange "HiddenFromAddressListEnabled" attribute should not affect shares and ACL.
In fact, no matter what the hidden attributes are, the Schedule Assistant on Outlook(for Desktop), Outlook for iOS/Android, and Outlook on the web only controls calendar sharing by ACL.
However, Outlook(for Desktop) cannot open the shared calendar in the Calendar view.
When I asked to the support, they replied "It's working correctly because we are calling different methods.".
I don't understand!
It is not a problem of whether the method is working correctly.
The problem is that they behave differently for the same attribute, and that the hidden attribute overrides the ACL.
Educational institutions that are sensitive to searching among students often use the hidden attribute.
I am very troubled because the sharing is limited.
I strongly wish that this long-existing defect will be improved on Outlook(for Desktoop).
I would request the sharing behavior for calendars whose hidden from address lists to be consolidated between Outlook on the web and other applications such as Outlook client.
