grey out past events in calendar / 7 day view in calendar (7 days ahead not 7 day week)
Past events in the calendar should go opaque once the time passes, I hate that the whole calendar is one color.
Also, 7 day view. 7 days from now, not the standard 7 day week, rarely do we need to see what happened yesterday.

Can't believe how long this has been an issue with no fix. Please create the solution!
GOOGLE CAN DO THIS!! MAKE IT HAPPEN...

I can't believe the comments on this are going back to 2015.
It's 2020 now.
Please, please, please make this simple usability change. It trips me up often because it just isn't obvious what the current day at a glance, and that causes problems of prepping for the wrong meeting sometimes, or missing others entirely.

Or at least make Conditional Formatting working for recurring events while the "technology is not here" to fix this simple issue...
I can't believe Outlook 365 calendar does not have this option. The lack of this feature is so typical of software engineers and their managers who are out of touch with users. Either go back to school and study human factor engineering or simply LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMER BASE. Fix this please!

This is a 100% NEED! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Conditional formatting does not do the trick. It would be nice if yesterday just rolled off to the left and we were just looking at the next days. I'm sure this wouldn't work for everyone...but making it an option would be wonderful!
Please make this change, past events should not be confused with current or future events. The conditional formatting is not doable on the web app. Past events should be greyed out / allow the user to adjust this color.
Just switched to using outlook's calendar for work from Google Calendar and I always have to do a double take to see what day am on for the work week view. I feel it's very important to change past events to opaque or gray it out for ease of identifying past events.
I added a conditional format, named it "Past Meetings", color gray with advanced condition as
Condition: "on or before"
This made all my past meetings grey - except for recurring meetings. Haven't figured out to make it work for recurring.
+1 for making past events opaque. MACs too thank you

Just do it, it annoys me every day. Maybe not on Mondays. But every other day I want to throw something through the window because it's such an obvious fix.
Yes, for the love of all things holy. PLEASE make this simple UX fix.
Lets grey out the past, so our eyes are drawn to the future.
FOR. REAL. Please do this!
+1 PLEASE - this is such a simple but effective UX fix that would be incredibly well received. I was honestly shocked when I went to look for it only to find it didn't exist.
+1 for making past events opaque
Seriously Microsoft. This is 2018 UX at it's simplest. I want to be able to hone in on 1. today's info, 2. the rest of the work week, and 3. fade out past events, denoting that they are, you know, PAST. Everyone here bemoaning the ease-of-use that GCal has is 100% correct.
Please differential upcoming from past meetings. Google Calendar lightens the shade of past meetings. It is extremely helpful for telling where you are in the week at a glance. The dotted bar that goes across the week should be helpful but because I read a page left to right I keep thinking I am earlier in the week than I actually am. Plus it doesn't actually stick out well in the day you are part of for some reason.

Come on guys. This is so simple and drastically improves the UX. When a meetings is in the past visually show it on a 7 or 5 day view.
This seems like a no brainer to me and I really miss the way the Google calendar worked in general.
