Drop the original message when replying
Drop the original message when replying
When replying it would be nice to have the option to drop the original message from the mail body. Right now it gets included by default, strangely, even if I explicitly delete the visible content.
A use case for this is responding via email to a number of automated systems which post the email content as a comment in an ongoing conversation. They tend to include the full comment including quoted content which is undesirable in many cases as it makes the conversation on the web unnecessarily cluttered.
Please add option to choose custom attribution format of original message when replying. This option is already implemented in Outlook fo Mac.
For example: On [DATE], “[NAME]” wrote:
If I click on a link in a message, Safari opens and I leave Outlook.
When I go back to Outlook, the message is still open, but it’s scrolled to the top. This happens every time I click a link in an email. For long newsletters, this is especially unproductive.
Is this an iOS limitation, or can you do something about this?
We found if someone replies to an email and then immediately locks their phone, Outlook will automatically go back to this email after the phone is unlocked again. A user will then typically notice this is an old email and then hit back to view their Inbox but in doing so, any replies to that old email will be inadvertently marked as read. Depending on how many emails have arrived since that last email, they may not even know there were replies if they rely on the blue dot to note new emails.
If you immediately close the original email after replying, this eliminates that scenario.
This is available on the Desktop version of Outlook.

When moving the email to another folder, keep the cursor already in the “Search” field so it is possible to type the folder name straight away.
In the current version, it is required to touch the search field and then go back to the keyboard for typing.

When replying to an E-mail, unless you specify the recipients reply can go to previous E/@-mail on the same track. This is very annoying and different from desktop (older) Outlook. This comes from the fact that when viewing an E-mail focus can be easily switched to previous E-mail without you knowing and therefore replying to a wrong E-mail in the thread.

My phone does not include the message and I wish it would! I would love to send the message back as my default so I don’t have to click 3 times.
Please make the reply options available per each email address too—like how it helps to have different signatures! Thanks.

When I reply to a message in the pop-out box, the original message I’m replying to no longer appears! This is incredibly annoying!! Why has this gone away??

The first mail is not visible when somebody replies to the first one.

Noticed that when I delete an in-progress reply, the original message is also deleted. So if I want to reply later, I have to retrieve the original message and the draft reply from the deleted items.

Include Review of Original Mail

On the outlook app for my phone and computer it only shows messages in my inbox that are within two months old and does not show messages that I have saved in my inbox before then. It would be great to be able to see all of the messages I keep in my inbox without having to search for them with the search function.

Many different email service providers (e.g., gmail) include and indent original message. It would be good to allow a per-account setting of the appearance for the included original email.

Right now, when replying to an e mail Outlook just gives one line at the bottom of the screen. Please make the space to write replies larger - we don’t need to see so much of the e mail that we are replying to - and it makes reviewing the response harder.

The new look which is supposed to make it easier to see the message you are replying to is actually way worse than it used to be as you only see the bottom of the oldest message in the split screen so you gave scroll all the way to the top to see the last message. This was a really perverse change.

If I were to foreword an email to someone, I would suggest that the original email stay in my inbox. Mind boggled!!

Amen..I can’t believe we need to beg for this ‘feature’, it’s long overdue
Option to delete original text when forwarding or using reply all. Sometimes we don’t want to forward the original text.
At present when I am forwarding or replying to an email, the text of the mail does not appear at all. Instead, there is a onscreen tab ">load full message". Only after that tab is touched, the email is displayed. Instead , I would like to have a functionality where the entire text of the email which I am forwarding or replying becomes visible without my having to touch the link/tab.
Please give me the option to keep the original message, especially when I am offline.
If i can't see the original message, I can't refer to it when I'm replying (or,heaven forbid, comment in the original message).

I would like the option to exclude the message in an email reply like you can do in the PC version of Outlook.
