Badge count of new mail rather than unread
I would like the option for the badge to show the count of new mail since the last time I opened the app, rather than the number of unread messages.
I leave mail unread when I intend to get back to it later, but I usually don't, so I have tons of unread email and I don't care about that count. I just want to know if I have new email.
Unread mail badges are displaying wrong numbers and outdated
Be able to activate badge count just for one of the configured accounts

Badge count reflects unread emails in inbox but not reflect unread emails in the inbox sub folder.
Can you add this option to count all unread emails inbox plus sub folders.

Allow to setup the new email count to only be for certain email addresses. Currently it’s only an iPhone setting which is an all or nothing for the entire app.
A function that notifies you via badge when each new email arrives
This is how Blackberry Work uses badges. This is important to my organization. Not everyone uses Unread messages. I'm not going to keep track of - Oh, I had 1003 unread message and now I have 1004 unread messages. I MUST have one new unread email! It just doesn't work for me.
In iPhone Mailbox, which I used so far but has severe security issues, it is possible, to have a complete inbox view for all accounts. I would appreciate if outlook could implement such a feature with the following options. Select whether only unread or all mails are displayed. Select for how much days (backwards) you can have this overview. E g Show me all inbox Mails of the Last 10 days that I have not yet read/opened.

Would it be possible to have a notification badge count that only counts new email threads (versus total emails)? The noise from a single thread that is blowing up could be for some a false sense of urgency.
Thanks for considering the idea!

Have an option to have just new emails as a badge rather than all unread

Propagate number of unread emails as separate information. Currently the app only displays the number of unread emails loaded in the app, and as the app never loads all, the count is always off. Please fix this. going on for years...
I want suggest a feature - Currently, the badge notification number should be programmable. I leave lot of emails marked unread as they are low priority until someone pings me more. So I don’t want to see number of unread emails. But want to see how many new emails arrived since I opened outlook last time.
This should be programmable a) new emails b) unread emails.
Actually user should be also able to specify a rule to compute this number.
After swiping on a notification to choose to move it to Trash, the app badge count does not reflect that the new message was deleted. Instead, the count is not updated (i.e. decremented) until the next time you open and then close the app. This is confusing/misleading. I think the badge count should be updated when the message is deleted.
Would love to only count unread emails on accounts where notifications are enabled in the badge total
Badge count is available on Outlook 4.1.1 iPad but not available on Outlook 4.1.1 on iPhone 7. Could it be enabled for iPhone.
This. The current unread mail number is useless as it is always high and gives no context regarding activity since last time the app was used.

The app badge icon and the number next to my inbox do not show the total unread items; only the unread items in the last 1,000 or 1 month. Also, when filtering by unread items, I have to press “load more conversations” many times. I would like to be able to increase the time or quantity of messages cached to the app.
Hey dear Outlook developers! Could you guys make the app show the count number of the Spam? Because sometimes some important emails are categorized into spam and I often forget to check the spam folder. It would remind me to check the spam if there’s a number besides the icon. It would also be better to have this function in all folders:)

Can you introduce smart badge count as you have in android. Each time user enter outlook app badge count should go to zero no matter mails are read or not.

Add feature/option to clear badges when app is opened.
This will allow users to easily see when new mail arrives without having to remember how many unopened messages were in the inbox last time the app was closed.

The badge notification always reads inaccurate, stating i have more unread emails than I do. Currently it states I have 36 unread emails; I have none.
Additionally, Give setting options to show icon for specific inbox and not for total amongst all accounts. If I had three accounts, and one account had 5 unread message, one had 3, and another no unread messages, than it should reflect an option to show all accounts combined (8 unread), or each individually at 5, 3, none.
