Jump to next mail by deleting/archiving a mail
It would be much more comfortable when the App would jump directly to the content of the next mail after deleting a mail. So it works in Windows ob a pc or in Apple Mail. When you delete a Mail you see the next mails text.

When reading messages, I like to start at the oldest, read/delete/ mark for action, and go to the next oldest message in the list from the read screen.
When reading emails in Outlook on the Ipad (I usually do this in portrait orientation) it is useful to be able to delete/archive emails. Personally, when catching up on emails I prefer to start with the oldest, and work upwards. Currently in the Outlook app for Ipad, when you are in an email and you delete or archive it using the shortcut button at the top, it defaults to the next (older) email.... not the newer email. It would be useful to have an option to change the behavior in this case if the user prefers so that it opens the next (newer) email... not the older one. Thank you
Seriously how is this not a thing on the app? Who goes back to their inbox after every email?

If would really be nice that if after deleting an email there was an option to move up to the next message instead of always moving down! The next message up is usually one that has not been read yet, whereas the one down has usually already been read. Starting at the bottom of the unread messages and working up, allows one to read the messages in the order they were sent.
I don’t seem to be able to go to next message automatically. So if I want to read all the messages in one folder it kicks me out to folder and I have to click on next message.
I would like to have the option to make Archive or Delete go to next email
I agree with everybody here. If you open a message in portrait mode and delete it you are returned to the inbox instead of moving to the next message.
If you do this in landscape mode it moves to the next message and not the inbox.
Please make it move to the next message in portrait mode.
Suggest that when I open my email after I delete it should open the next mail instead of going out and back into the next mail.
Would like to have the next email to open after the current email message is deleted, archived, or moved.

I’m glad to see that this is under review. When I want to arbitrage my email, I use Edison or something else currently.
Please bring back the option to advance to the next or previous email after deleting an opened email from the old outlook application.
This feature is already there on PC then why not here. As soon as I delete or move an email to a folder next email should appear and not the list of inbox. This really saves time in between the emails when we are getting too many emails. And trust me every one gets too many emails nowadays.
Add delete button to the bottom and please open up the next message after you delete the current one. As it is right now, the app requires 2 hands to operate properly. Look at the native iPhone app for guidance as they have this functionality absolutely perfect.
One handed operation is absolutely critical. If a frequently used function requires the user to reach or the use of 2 hands, it should be changed.
When looking at an individual email I can delete pressing the trash can. But that takes me back to the list view instead of the following email. I would like a setting to make the next email display instead.
The OP is from 2015 and we’re now at the end of 2019. I would not call this “under review”. This is my third time trying out Outlook for iOS and will be the third time I’ll delete it. There are still major usability issues like the OP and like the delete button at the top which precludes using the phone one handed.
Like in the computer version of Outlook you should enable users to be able to choose to automatically open the next or previous email upon deleting an email.
When deleting msg’s, would like to move automatically to next msg
Recommend to go to next message in the list when you delete an item and add arrows to move up or down the messages instead of having to go back to list of emails.
Move trash/delete to broom where fingers tend to be to make overall flow better. Takes to much effort to tap on top for trash and everything else is on the bottom. App loses flow.
Every year I come back and test Outlook to see if this simple feature has been introduced and I’m always disappointed.
When you delete or sort and email it should load and view the next or previous email in that inbox.
Every single time I delete an email it takes me back out to the inbox view and I need to work out where I was up to, read another email and after that delete that I go through the whole process again.
Every email program on iOS supports this except Outlook.
So once again I’ll be deleting Outlook and going back to Spark until it’s resolved.
When reading an email on the mobile app and I delete it I would like the app to open the next email in the list. As it is it goes back to the mail list which basically wastes time. 90+% of the time the user wants to read the next email.
