Why isn’t possible yet to sort contacts alphabetically by last name? The way I do on Outlook desktop and the way way Apple Contact with same list pushed to it by Outlook for iPad.
While we’re at, why no separate People button rather than having to search to bring up People?

Ability to sort contacts by last name, then first name, then middle initial/name. The way god intended.

Helpful if when I compose an email, clicking in the To, CC or Bcc box would pop down a list of folks in my Address Book ( and be allowed to sort that list in various ways). Good luck!

Over 2000 requests for a “last name first” option and you haven’t responded You say our feed back is important but that is clearly not so

The contacts section of the Outlook app is useless to me without a “last name first” option. It seems to me an obvious feature. I’ve ask for it many times and you’ve said it’s coming but it’s been over a year. What’s the big deal that’s holding it up.

Sort should always be by Last Name, then First Name, then middle initial. Was the telephone book organized by first name (OK other than in Iceland).
I worked at a University that set things up by first name because it seemed more collegial when there were not so many people using computers and email. Grow that list to many thousands and it is a complete nightmare.
Sort by last name, always. -

Would be nice to be able to filter emails by sender to make it easier to organize inbox

Sorting, addressing, searching all needs to be by last name by default. Leave the option to change if desired but surnames are spelled one way not like first names Bob vs Robert or even Mike vs Michael. Why is this still being debated?

Please do it. A necessary feature for a good contact manager. Struggling older brains find surnames easier to remember than first names. Microsoft will not wish to continue to be seen as ageist.

This is simple logic. Please expedite.

Please allow me to sort by last name first - it seems that many users have been requesting this feature for some time now....

I use my calendar for booking appointments. Why can’t I search an individuals name who is in the calendar and get any results?

Hard to find contacts, go back to a-z listing and easier search for contacts.
Show notification of email on main screen of phone

Contacts do not integrate with iPhone features like phone and Apple messaging. Alphabetizes people by first name. I have 1200 contacts and this does not work.

It would be nice to have a way to automatically have emails from specific contacts or maybe even ones that contain keywords, to go to a pre-determined folder
For example if I have my bank constantly sending me important emails I’d like to have a folder set up for “money” or maybe my school and teachers are sending me school related email I’d like to set up a folder for “education”Maybe this already exists but if it does it’s not very apparent

Allow option to sort People (contacts) alphabetically by Last Name as well as by First Name. This should be a basic feature in any database.
