It would be usefull that when you archive or delete multiple messages on at once, they would be also marked as read. Now you can either mark as read and archive messages one by one, or first mark messages as read and then makea second selection and archive or delete them. For example the Apple mail marks every message put into the archive or trash folders automatically as read. If there has been mentioned that Outlook for IOS schould not mark deleted or archived messages as read, there could be a choice in the settings for this.

Hi there. A suggestion for you. I once asked at what point a message is considered “Read”. The behavior was changed so that you could select “Message A”, but it wasn’t considered Read until you selected another record.
My issue is, I quite often just want to fire a message into a folder and mark it as Read (on Windows I do that with rules). On the iOS App, if you select a message with the intention of just moving it to a folder, it sits in the folder as Unread which is annoying.
So can the behavior change, or can there be a setting that allows the user to decide the behavior.
Of course if rules were implemented...that would solve things 😊

It is common to want to keep messages that you don’t need to open. Currently, if I want to move several messages to a folder at the same time it’s a several step process to:
1. select the messages
2. mark them as read
3. re-select the same messages
4. move them to the destination folderThis often causes frustration, especially when dealing with A LOT of messages because you inevitably miss several intended or include unintended messages during the re-select. Ot would be better if I could do the “Mark as Read” and “Move” at the same time.

It would be nice to have the possibility to mark mails as read automatically when deleting or archiving them.

I really miss this option. I've got a quick step for this on my desktop to simultaneously archive and mark as read, but when archiving on mobile I still see a blue number behind the archived folder. When swiping on mobile I can only choose one option. I'd love it if I could combine archive and mark as read. Why not make this the default option cross-platform? I see archiving as "I don't want to see this again until I search for it" and deleting as "I don't ever want to see this message again.

I will select several items to mark then read and then I have to select them all again to delete them or file them. The selections I make should persist.

When browsing an email, Indicator still says Not Read. I still need to Mark it as Read before deleting.

Please add "Mark message as read on delete" function (the same as in Outlook for PC).
Thanks.

Have a setting for users to choose whether they want emails marked as read as soon as the email is clicked on, after 5/10/30 seconds, or manually.

Please do this. It is so aggravating to have to do an added step of right-clicking on Deleted Items folder and clicking on "Mark As Read".

Yes please for this.

I think it makes sense to mark something as read if it gets moved to the deleted folder. Everyone hates the little red unread message icon especially you know it’s junk.

Please add a “read an delete” swipe feature. This way we can delete lots of nuisance emails from our inbox without reading them. Right now we have to read then delete it otherwise if you delete it immediately without reading it, it still counts as unread and the red number symbol on he app keeps going up.

It would save me some time each morning if, especially in mobile, I could move an unopened email to a folder, and have it be read when it moved, as opposed to moving unread to the new folder.

I would like to be able to mark mail as read in bulk (after selecting one by one) and not have to go back and reselect them to delete them. I want them to stay selected after marking them as read, and then be able to just click the delete button to delete the same. Google mobile mail app does this (as an example).

I would to have the ability to select multiple emails to mark as open, and also delete in the same step without having to re-select them.

Have an option to allow an email to be marked as read when deleting or swiping to delete it. One swipe does two things!

Please consider adding an option to simultaneously mark an Unread message as Read when Archiving it from the Inbox. I archive a lot of messages that don't require action upon arrival, but might need referencing at a later date. Currently, I have to open every message to change the status before archiving it. Thanks!
