Render links clickable in Location in meetings

When using screen share apps like Zoom, the meeting invites sometimes are URLs to screen share sessions. The Location field in the mobile app does not render these as clickable links.

It would be great if they were clickable links which then open up the relevant app!

    I can no longer just click on a conference call number in the location field, I now have to manually enter the number and code. This is a serious safety concern as I spend a lot of time in the car on the phone. I use to be able to just click on the number within outlook app and it would automatically dial. Can you please bring this feature back?

    For someone who is constantly in mobile conference calls removing this makes the calendar app virtually useless. Why would they ever remove this function it is key to the MOBILE part of outlook.

    This used to work fine. Why the change and need to re-request previous functionality?

    I opened a support case for this issue and was this is the response I received:

    "I apologize but the inability to tap on the dial in numbers is a recent change in the app. This is not a bug but rather is now the intended behaviour in the app. For now, you can submit a request for this feature through Settings > Help & Feedback > Suggest a feature. I hope that addressed your issue. Please feel free to start a new conversation with us anytime."

    So Microsoft went BACKWARDS in functionality, as the location field used to recognize phone numbers and addresses (I can't speak for URL's as I did not test that before prior). I can't stress enough how important this functionality is for myself and many others in our organization. For those of us who travel and attend multiple meetings/calls every day, this is a huge inconvenience and honestly dangerous while driving.

    There is still an option in the app settings for "Open directions with Apple Maps or Google Maps" but I am unable to find any place where addresses are actually recognized, clickable links (body of appointment, body of email, etc.). What is the point of this setting???

    COME ON MICROSOFT, GET IT TOGETHER!!!

    Very frustrating to find this is in a an “idea” thread when it was readily available ever since the app first shipped. This is imperative for anyone who uses meeting requests and has to dial into any phone bridge or web meeting, it also messes up direction when an address is present.

    URLs in the location field used to be clickable. Please restore this feature.

    This new inability to click on a phone number in a calendar invite is a big step backward. It makes usage of the app far less efficient and frankly - unsafe. The two stop process of cutting and pasting numbers into the dial screen is a dangerous distraction when mobile. Please bring this feature back.

    Since the iPhone was invented in for over 5+ years of my use with one, the calendar location Field has always been active, whereby if you put a phone number or an address in the calendar location field, you could then press on it and get the phone number to autodial, or the address to automatically go to maps and give you directions etc. it still very clearly and and appropriately works that way in the iPhone calendar, but no longer in the Outlook calendar since your recent change, which by the way is ridiculous that you would go backwards with any software changes! That was a very essential feature of the Outlook calendar to function the same as with the iPhone calendar and work in sync with Outlook. You now have changed this and removed that location field ability in outlook which is a huge detriment to the application and huge decrease in essential functionality. Please change the outlook calendar location and field back to be an active field to be able to auto dial phone numbers and auto map directions, instead of a dead field the way it now is today. This change made no sense, has thousands of users frustrated and I cannot understand why anyone would have made such a stupid NEGATIVE change! This can even increase car accidents whereby users can no longer auto dial or auto map and have to manually Key in phone numbers to make calls and addresses in maps, and people driving will try to do this versus the auto dial/mao feature that used to be there, therefore you’re responsible for several car accidents and injuries going forward I’m sure.

    This is a definite must have. The location field of the calendar meeting should support one touch for phone numbers AND addresses. What really kills me is that it used to work on a previous version of the app but they purposely took it away!!! There is even an option to open addresses in Google or Apple maps! Addresses aren’t even recognized in the body of the meeting!! What are you smoking, Microsoft!?

    It’s very frustrating and also dangerous that you can’t touch a dial-in if it’s the location for a meeting or in the body of the invite. This should work with ease as a basic gm function for calendar invites.

    Recent updates broke a feature where phone numbers placed within the location line of a meeting invite in calendar, would dial the number on iPhone. Now it does nothing. Feature still works on Android.

    Please restore this. I am not sure why this is a feature that has to be voted versus a fix of bug since this was working fine prior to the release.
