Keep position in email when switching apps
I read a fair amount of email newsletters. The issue is that when I click a link in one of them (and thus go to my browser), and then return to Outlook to continue reading the newsletter, the position in the email is not retained. I.e. I am at the top of the email again. It would be super handy if the position in an open email was kept when switching between apps.

Outlook resets the inbox and current message being viewed if you leave the screen even briefly. No other app does this. You have to search for the email you were on each time.
Need to leave window status while in background. When switching screens back and forth on iPhone, the open email closes. This is annoying when searching old email to reference some information while in another app.
When working in Outlook email and having either a message open or search results visible. I then switch to another app for some short time (about a minute or so) and when I switch back to Outlook the app is reset like I started it fresh - focused mailbox. I have to find the email I had opened before or run search again.
What I need is for Outlook to remember where I left it when I come back.
This is rather annoying and is productivity nightmare.
Btw: Apple Mail does this correctly!
When reading in the window opened when pressing the ‘Read more’ button, if I switch to another app and then switch back, the ‘Read more’ window has scrolled back to the top. This is incredibly annoying. I don’t like the read more feature at all, but if it must be in the app, can it at least maintain the scroll position?
It’s incredibly annoying to click on a link in an email which opens another app, and not be able to pick up where you left off when switching back to outlook.
It used to work that way (i.e., the session would be maintained) but at some point that changed and never came back. It’s enough to stop using outlook for accessing mail.
Often, I have to search for an email (search needs work too) to then reply to it. While composing the reply, I need to leave the app momentarily to check a piece of info, etc. elsewhere on the device. When I then come back into Outlook, my earlier email is saved to drafts, the email I was replying to is buried back in my mailbox, and I cannot resume work quickly and easily. Please optimize this better.
In the fall, you did an update in iOS where the app closes messages that are being worked on, saves them and reverts to the Inbox.
It is really annoying to have to wait for the splash screen to load and go back into the Drafts folder or scroll down to where I was in the message queue 10-20 seconds after switching to another app to answer a text or something else.

When I am using the app, and then I go to another tab and then come back to Outlook, it always goes back to the main inbox. I would like for it to stay on the email that I opened
I’d like for outlook to remember the state that I left it when I switch to a new app. All too often I am switching to another app, and then come back to outlook to reference an email, and it resets the view. At least leave it as I left it for longer for this type of scenario.
When you MS Excel file, it doesn’t show the sheet where the file was closed. It opens the first sheet.
Yes, this is a significant productivity ‘destroyer’; often you’ll want to switch out of an app into another app to get some piece of information and on return have to scroll around, find the draft you were working on and resume; similarly, when referencing an email and perhaps working in another app.
Significantly retrograde step. I much prefer outlook to the native IOS mail client, but retaining ‘session/app’ state between app-switches is dramatically better in the IOS client, and the better inter-working between the IOS client on an iPhone and an iPAD (e.g. pick up a draft where you left off in particular) are killer productivity features that Microsoft should be leading in.

Right now if i click a link in an email and switch to Safari, by the time I click to go back to Outlook, Outlook reloads and the email is closed. I have to find the email again and reopen to finish with it.
If I have you open in the background Outlook should be able to reload the same email when I go back. It is easier to use the Mail app now because of this.
Recently the app has started resetting itself back to default inbox view whenever you leave the app even for a few seconds.
This means I have searched for an email, clicked into the attachment, clicked into another app to verify information and come back to find outlook reset back to inbox view and I have to search for my attachment/email again. I have not shut down the outlook app when I leave it.
Please fix this bug quickly.

Whenever I have an email open and switch to another app and come back outlook shows the inbox again and the open email disappears. So I find myself searching for that email again! Please fix.
Very true. It keeps resetting

Hi. When I switch between apps and I have an email open, I loose the place I was and am forced to start all over again (frustrating especially if you are looking for something). If you can make it so the email stays open to the place I am, I think this would be better.

When opening a link within an email, the link will direct me to another app (i.e Chrome/Safari). When switching back to the Outlook app to reference email that has the link, the app will reset, show the splash page, and not leave off where I was.
Very frustrating when trying to multitask.
It’s driving me crazy that outlook will reset itself when I switch between AIDS on iPhone. For example, I search for an email, open an attachment for reference, change app to Zoom to join a conference call then switch back to outlook to read the attachment. Outlook will reset, bring me back to splash screen then inbox. I have to redo my search. Very frustrating!
I find when I am reading an email and switch to another app (or lock my screen), very often when I return to Outlook it’s been killed in the background and I get booted back to the Inbox. This is a very frustrating experience, and it can happen even after just a minute or two.
Ideally, the app should save its state, and if that state was reading an email, then when I return it should bring me back to that email, to the same scroll position I was up to.
Why after closing the app it doesn’t reopen on the current open page and it starts from front page?
This is very annoying when you are writing an email and decide to switch to something else, when you come back to your email it is closed and the email has gone to Draft!
