Option to not automatically mark item read
If I am on an email and perform some action on it (move, delete, etc) and the pointer moves to the next email which happens to be unread, that new selected email is marked as read. For now I have to swipe to mark as Unread because I don’t want to process/read it yet.
You recently changed the default behavior of marking an email as ‘read’ in the inbox, without notice or option to select the traditional behavior. How can a user focused development team do this to its customers? If you worked at my company you’d be forced to roll back this change, our users would not accept this without their input and an option to select their preference.
How can your team be so out of touch with its customer base?
iOS Outlook automatically marks messages as read as soon as you select it. Add an option to allow the user to control this as is done in MS Outlook/Exchange. I use this as a work management tool and prefer to manually choose whether the mail is considered read or not.

I am using the Outlook app for my iPad, I am looking to disable the feature that every time I click an email it marks it as “read”. I would prefer to control marking “read/unread” manually. Is that possible? Thank you!
I am sure everyone uses email differently. I tend to leave emails that I need to respond to as unread in my inbox. On the iPad version of Outlook, when you delete/archive the email above, it automatically moves on to the next email and marks it as read. This means that I have to continually re-mark the messages as unread. Very annoying part of the Outlook iPad experience. This does not happen on the iPhone version.
I preview emails on the phone and later make the answer from the pc.
It will be convenient if the email stay unread
I support, I do not want a glance at an email to mark it as read.
An option to have to manually mark an email as read instead of it automatically being marked as read when you open it
