Block directly from inbox junk mail
Jonathan Maher commented
I am constantly deleting junk mail when it should always go straight to my junk folder. I didn’t always have this problem, but this past I have had all of my junk mail in my inbox. I am going to switch to my gmail account for my regular email.
Allow me to easily add emails to a junk folder so they will be sent to that folder automatically after one time of designating the email as Junk.

Block certain junk email
To be able to filter emails that have certain phrases so they go directly to junk mail.
Outlook iOS Junk email folder'handling exposes PII infdormation. This need sto be corrected ASAP.
If you have Outlook on Windows and Outlook on iOS, select one spam mail in the Windows/Outlook junk folder and look at the message in the preview pane (DO NOT MOVE THE MESSAGE TO YOUR INBOX). You see just alphanumeric text and URLs in plain text form underlined and in blue.
Now select and look at the same spam message in the Junk folder in Outlook on iPAD iOS. That message on the iOS device is formatted just as if it were a legitimate message sitting in your inbox - only pictures/images/gifs is missing. THIS IS BAD - The only way for that message to appear formatted is that Outlook (and this is an Outlook mobile/client issue) queried the sending spam mail server to resolve those URLs and perform the formatting. That means the offending spam server now knows that your email address is legitimate because it got a query. Most of these URLs have code ids in the URL that associate your email address. This needs to be fixed. Your email address is being confirmed without you knowing it. Outlook mobile just exposed PII data - your email address is considered PII data and should be protected.
NOT ONLY THAT - you can actually reply to that message while it resides in the junk folder!! Outlook/Office 365/Windows does NOT allow that to happen. If you want to reply Outlook/Windows forces you to first move that message to your inbox. And that's exactly the way it should be. Outlook iOS should have exactly the same behavior.
Junk or spam mail residing in the junk folder on Windows Outlook is treated correctly - you only see the plaintext and un-formatted text and the un-resolved URLS. Outlook mobile clients need to do the exact same thing! This needs to be fixed ASAP.
It is understood that SPAM/phishing/hacking emails cannot be stopped (look at the latest WaWa credit card breach - 30 mil customers exposed - includes email addresses - among other critical PII data). It is going to happen - Outlook/Office 365/WIndows does an incredible job in the treatment of suspected junk/spam/phishing and thus protecting your email address. Outlook mobile does not.
And finally - I've tried many times to get the Outlook mobile team to address this issue - to no avail - for months! Outlook mobile posts updates via the Apple App store numerous times (at times every week) and this suggests the product is not mature or correctly vetted prior to release.
I do hope that this will get the Outlook mobile development team to fix this junk/spam mail behavior within the Junk folder.
A lot of junk mail keeps making it into my inbox. Please fix

block junk mail
Me too having similar problem for no reason same problem Microsoft some is going with you outlook .
Recently several emails that are junk have started coming to my inbox. I haven’t changed any of my settings so I don’t know how they’re getting through. There needs to be a way to only let emails from contacts go to my inbox. Not to mention emails from people that I have tried to add to my contacts still goes to junk mail. There needs to be a setting that allows you to set email addresses as safe or unsafe without potentially opening a scam.
Please create the option “unsubscribe” at the beginning of the email
Please add ability to add senders to a “safe senders” list (including addresses you have sent emails to) to ensure genuine emails are not filtered into the Junk folder
Please create a way for me to mark senders as junk or not so that when I move the email out of the Junk folder it never sends their emails to junk again. Its destroying my business and I will be moving on from Live soon.

There should be the ability to mark an email as junk directly from the Inbox WITHOUT opening it. Currently you need to open the email first even if you can tell straight away that it’s spam. This is a bad practice and can lead to receiving more spam.
Being able to BLOCK junk/spams so they cannot continually send emails once you have blocked the address.
It was a great feature to be able to block spam email addresses. Why you dropped that feature is anyone’s guess, developers often mess up a good thing.
Please upgrade outlook for iPadOS to full desktop version so that we can set junkies etc.
Add an indicator Icon at top right corner on INBOX to indicate that there are mails in spam/junk box that possibly need attention. Most of the time, the spam/junk mail box is left unchecked until and when you browse the subfolders.
So by having an indicator stating there are incoming mails diverted to spam/junk box, outlook users are notified more accurately on their incoming mails.
Add in junk mail everything email adresses containing a predefined word
As on my Windows 10 mobile app, links in email in the junk mail folder should not be active to prevent accidentally clicking on a malicious link.
The junk mail function does not work for me. I find the vast majority of my “junk mail” is mis-classified. It is rare for real junk mail to find its way to the junk mail folder. And important and personal email gets put into the junk folder. I do not see any way to teach the app which mail is junk and which is not. Please help.
