Disable auto-invite of attendees for events
One of the recent updates changed the default event behavior to automatically invite all members of an email chain when creating an event from the auto generated link in the email.
This is kind of annoying and can result in some embarrassing emailing of dozens of people when trying to create a personal calendar event. If this continues to be the default, it would be nice to have the option to disable it.

Outlook scans my inbox and puts events on my calendar automatically. I really don't want that. Having the option to switch this off would be awesome.

How do you turn this off? I have a series of meetings and when I add the invitation to my calendar, it makes me the organizer and sends out the original email now under my name. HELP!!!

This "undocumented feature" is awful - I too inadvertently "invited" a number of folks to an event. What a pain.
Even when I removed everyone from the event, any changes I made to the times resulted in another flood of emails.
PLEASE FIX THIS - it's AWFUL and makes us look like fools that don't know their technology.
Default should be none, or there should be an option in settings to turn it off.
Literally two colleagues of mine accidentally sent 1200+ people an invite using this "feature". Back to back embarrassments.

Yup, just did this by accident to 5000 employees. Thanks outlook for iOS.
I did this the other day - want to bring attention to the fact that it is NOT appropriate to auto-add all the CC'd individuals in an email if you create an event straight from your calendar! This is absolutely ridiculous!
If you create an even in response to a flyer or email that was sent company wide - guess what, you just created a calendar event and auto-invited the whole company!
This is not a feature, and I struggle to wonder in what situation such a feature would be useful. There needs to be an option to either turn this off (this should be the default) or to remove this feature entirely.
My solution to this on my iPhone is to just open the email into the iOS mail and mark it on my calendar from there. It’s ridiculous to have to do that, but I’m afraid I’ll forget again to delete people Outlook decided needed to be added. 🙄 Really Outlook??

I can’t fathom a world in which someone would want this behavior, much less the default behavior. So embarrassing everytime I accidentally invite an entire email list to a meeting.
Please remove this behavior.
I am absolutely humiliated as I did this yesterday - unintentionally sent a calendar invite to very very important people in my company when I thought I was just putting a placeholder in my own calendar. I received scathing replies from people that I have only just met about how I had overstepped by setting the meeting time etc etc. This is a Career killing feature , I can’t fathom how anyone thought that this was a good idea.

I sure which this would get more attention and at least make it to "under review" status. This causes all kinds of confusion and really needs to be fixed.
Fully agree! So embarrassing. This is a ridiculous feature. Is there any way to toggle this off?!??

This automatic invite option should be disabled immediately, so mad this change was made without my consent, I've sent out invites by accident from my iphone on 2 occasions now

When I click on a date to make an event, it automatically ads the person who sent me the email to the event. This is very inconvenient when adding events from group email lists, as if I forget to remove the email address from the field or sends an invite to everyone in the group. A settings option to toggle wether the email is added by default would be awesome.
Terribly annoying feature ... Will discontinue outlook if there is no way to disable this feature!
It is so silly the number of steps that you have to go through to delete this automatic inviting of people on your email chain. You are obviously creating a calendar entry and not an invitation to a meeting and therefore you have to remember to go into people, select the field to delete, save, go out. Something that should take a few seconds to create a reminder becomes a chore or an embarrassment when you email somebody you did not intend to
I just tried to create an event from a highlighted date in my email AND IT EMAILED AN INVITE TO MY ENTIRE COMPANY!!!! Please disable this immediately. It makes no sense! Ceasing using outlook until this is fixed. Major embarrassment.

When clicking on a date in an email to create a calendar event, Outlook adds all recipients of the message as default invitees to the event. This can be a major problem when large numbers of people are included as recipients and the user only wants to place the event on a personal calendar.
PLEASE URGENTLY LOOK AT THIS. I’m not sure I can continue with outlook unless they stop the automatic emailing of events to people included in an email someone else has sent me. SO EMBARRASSING when you add an event to your own calendar and everyone already emailed receives the event notification from you.
I am getting annoying Spam that is auto adding events to my calendar and conflicting with appointments, I need this switching off as it is stupid.
