Junk mail filter
Since having the new Outlook app forced upon me, I am receiving 20-40 junk and spam emails on my Inbox. This never happened before with the previous online version of Outlook / Hotmail. Please dramatically improve junk mail and spam filtering. This Online Outlook upgrade is currently rated zero of 5 stars as a result of all this junk mail and spam no longer being filtered out. Zero being the worst of the worst. The lowest of the lows.
Thank you for considering

Let me disable default junk email folder. It’s is trapping important messages even when they are from known senders.
Then if I don’t catch it within 10 days of receiving it, they are deleted. This is awful -

In need of better junk mail filter. I am getting a bunch of junk mail in my inbox that used to go to my junk mail. It’s very irritating and needs to be improved upon.

Better filtering so that junk mail doesn’t continue to enter priority inbox

I regularly see junk and spam emails in my inbox. Better categorization techniques required to directly have them go to the junk folder.

1) Provision to filter junk emails
2) option to mark an email as read/unread -

I receive the same kind of spam every single day - 40 emails. They repeat the same subjects, Keranique hair, TL900 flashlight, Warby Parker and so on... Every single day I have to go through my junk folder to see if any legitimate emails get sent there - and i consistently remove several non-junk emails.
I do this ritual EVERY DAY for the past SIX MONTHS - it is unbelievably time consuming.
The spam filter learns absolutely NOTHING when I mark email as NOT JUNK or if I mark an email as JUNK, it just moves it to the junk folder.
Does Microsoft's algorithm actually do any learning? Why am I seeing the same garbage in the JUNK folder? It's already been marked as junk for the past six months, why do I still keep receiving it? The goal is to start blocking it so that legitimate junk doesn't ever hit my mailbox or any of its subfolders.
Google does a phenomenal job with its filters, and Microsoft always let garbage in since Hotmail started over 2 decades ago.
Very frustrating!

Even if u mark an email as junk outlook app does not seem to understand that . You will continue to receive the emails from the sender that u already marked as junk which is quite frustrating .

Would it be possible to run a script that puts certain keywords straight into the trash, not into the spam folder. For example I want to put all emails with the text “bitcoin” straight into the trash.

The spam filter seems to operate without rhyme or reason. There should be a way to mark emails as “not junk” from the Junk Email folder.
Important emails end up in the Junk email with frequency. The filter does not do a very good job of determining junk from good emails. How about a setting to turn off Junk email?
Thank you,

.Marking an email “not junk “ has no effect. It continues to be labeled as junk.
