Read more as an option
Please make the "read more" feature an option, not mandatory!

I would like Outlook to display the full content of all emails without displaying a Read More link.
Hi there, I really dislike the need to click 'read more' when reading a message in the app. If I am scrolling down of course I want to read the whole message - and if I do have to click to 'read more' I wish it to open in the reading pane - I do not want to have to open it as a separate pop out window that then doesn't have the headers of the email included.

This is the reason I'm reading this section. I don't need Microsoft to decide when I get to read my emails and when I need them truncated.

Would be great if the app loaded full emails instead of prompting "read more" after a long email.
Like the native iOS app, just let the app downloads the entire email. It's infuriating to press 'load more' to see the full email. I don't have time for stupid implemented ideas like this. The native iOS app gives me the entire email straight away!

Can you please put back the option to turn this feature on or off. With the new emails search option is only checks what's in your current inbox. So if you have an emails say 2 weeks old it will not find it unless you keep loading more conversations. Now imagine finding an email from 6 months ago. This makes it impossible.
If there is a way to shut this option off, please advise.

Can the 'Read More' functionality for long emails be switched off ? On an iPad Pro the available screen space makes it unnecessary.
Also (unlike how this works on an iPhone), when tapping 'Read More' on the iPad Pro the email is displayed again from the start - rather than jumping down automatically to where the 'Read More' link was displayed. This means scrolling through the email from the top again in order to get back to where you were forced to press 'Read More' - very annoying.
Many thanks in advance.

I wish there was an option to automatically have messages load in full when responding or forwarding w/o having to press the button every time.

Absolutely, let me and the size of my data plan determine how much of the email to download.
Currently you click read more which reloads the email losing where you left off.

Ever since it's addition. The auto sizing hasn't worked for many of my emails.
Please roll back to the previous version.

Please do it! It's an easy change. It annoys me several times a day!!!

Please bring back the old way of reading long emails in landscape, so we don't have to press the 'Read More' button, then have to re-read the email to get back to the place where it was abruptly ended. The old way still works in portrait. Why?

Show directly the whole text of the message
Building the Read More function into Outlook app seems odd. Were customers asking for something like this, is it supposed to speed access by some minor amount, or just some wild hare that seemed to need chasing. The effort to make the change could have been much better spent dealing with pressing or important complaints.
Daily I get at least one message that's long (fits a now somewhat arbitrary length rule) and it had been nice to just scroll through looking for content I'm interested in. Instead of simplication this change complicates daily efforts to keep up with duties and responsibilites. It's another annoyance that takes away from productivity.
I will once again try to find an alternate app for reading outlook based email. Given the option I wouldn't keep an outlook account because of restrictions/limitations imposed similar to this read more functionality.
Any new functionality should have a switch to allow or disallow. Then if everyone uses it you've won and it can become standard.

It's a very annoying user experience. Get half way through a long email and have to load it in a new window art the top of the message again. More clicks than necessary, more scrolling than necessary. Hopefully there's a really good reason for it but I can't imagine it can't be done right

Currently I have to scroll down a long email to find the 'read more' button and open a new reading pane.
The only alternative at the moment is to read part of the email in the current, cramped space, then click the 'read more' button, then scroll down the new window to the point I read previously.
For some emails, eg newsletter, I know the 'read more' button will be there. For other emails I don't know if they're quite long enough or not until I scroll down.
The reading pane is great. Why not make it an option for all emails?

This new feature is terrible. I'm reading through a long email then get to a place where it just cuts off. Tapping Read More opens a new window and puts me right back at the top, so now I have to find where I was again. Plus, now it's in a modal window, so I have to dismiss it to do anything, like check a new email. When I come back to it, I have to scroll all the way to the bottom, hit Read More, then scroll all the way down again to find where I was.
I wasn't having problems with long emails before, so this makes things worse, with no added benefit.

Just load the full email instead of making us click "read more" for another window to pop up with the full email.
Tobias Cottmann commented
On long emails, Outlook doesn't show the full mail. Instead
-you get stopped in reading
-have to hit "Read more"
-start at the beginning of the mail again and scroll down to where you were interrupted
- hit the X button to return to the mail overview
That is four unnecessary steps.
Solution: show the full email as default.
Please remove or make optional the need for a Read More button for long emails. It's very frustrating to have to tap that button and then start from the top of the email. Thanks.
