Sending mails with IRM (information rights management) enabled
I would like to request for the Outlook App to be able to set IRM controls (do not forward, confidential etc) on mails which are composed and sent from the app. Right now only the ability to read and respond to IRM protected mails is available.
Thanks

For O365 users, it would be great to be able to initiate new messages with specific permissions (rights management) set -- e.g., confidential, view-only, etc. As per our testing, you can use iOS Outlook to *reply* to messages with permissions already set... you just can't *initiate* new messages.

For me it is not possible to open IRM protected mails. In the Outlook iOS App I only see the attachement with the file extension "rpmsg". Nothing is happen when I try to open it. Normally I have to choose to open this in the iOS App "AIP Viewer".
Microsoft Support told me that this is really still not working in the mobile Microsoft Outlook App.As workaround this only works in the Apple integrated iOS Mail App ... very bad!

I would like to be able to open IRM protected attachments (PPT, Word, Excel) directly in the app. Right now, I have to have each of these mobile apps downloaded to my phone and send the IRM protected attachments there to view.

Are you on Exchange Online? You can create mail transport rules that look for a keyword. You put the keyword in the subject and EXO will apply the RMS template you want. It's not perfect, but that what we are doing for now until the Outlook app adds it.
