Sync mail in the background
When I see I have new email, I open the app. However, my new mails aren't there. I need to wait for a sync. I don't see this latency with the rtm app.

Can't use the Outlook app on iOS. No background syncing at all, no notifications. Switched over to the native mail app. I need to be notified of incoming emails without having to open the app and refreshing.

Outlook updates in the background and notifies of a new email with a badge, but doesn’t actually download the email until the app is opened. Its irritating to have a new mail notification without being able to read the email (eg notification sent when phone has a connection, but don’t see the notification/open app until you’re in an area without a connection).

My inbox does not show all new emails immediately. Sometimes it takes a long time (several minutes) before a new email appears in my inbox. This delay even occurs between when I receive a pop-up notice that the email arrived and when I can see the email in my inbox. If I want to see a new email, I check my iPhone, m when does not suffer from this lag.

When a new email is received a notification is shown but the email never populates in the inbox. Even if you pull down to refresh. Only way to see it the inbox is to close the app completely and open it again.
iPhone - Latest OS
Outlook App - Latest Versionon going issue since previous version of both OS and app

When a new mail arrives, notification is received. Then when you open Outlook that mail is not yet downloaded. As the app opens the mail is downloaded.
If the notification arrives then the mail should be downloaded just like it is in the stock Mail app. This feature works in the stock Mail app even without enabling Background app refresh.
Every month I download Outlook and see if this feature is made available and when it’s not I delete it and then come & check after a month. This cycle has been repeating for a long time now. -

I get the notification that a new message has arrived, but when I open outlook, the message is. It there yet - it still has to be downloaded.

I can read a snippet of a new message on my home screen, but when I go to the app, it’s not there. I have to wait for the thing to load. It seems to me that the app could load it in both places in the background, no?
This is especially annoying when I leave a WiFi zone without opening the app. I get a teaser message on the home screen, but can’t find anything in the app.
Thank you for looking into this.

If the mobile operating system prevents background synchronization, users will experience the following:
New mail notifications will continue to be delivered, however, upon launching the app, the new messages will have to be downloaded.
Calendar reminders will fire for appointments that have been cancelled because the app was unable to download and process the meeting cancellation.

I find terrible that I have to manually initiate the download and sometimes it is not the best of times - I’m in a hurry - or I’m on cellular data, etc. . I want it to download automatically same as the native iPhone email app., when I’m on WiFi connection.

The background download is enabled, but does not work,
Every time I click on the app it starts updating inbox, which can take up to a minute or more if large volumes of emails are being downloaded. The old iOS email used to download in background correctly so emails we there ready to be read as soon as you click on the app.
Background download is enabled already,

Even when Background refresh is enabled for Outlook, the app has to be opened for the e-mail to download. Would love to use this app as the emails in this app are better formatted (bigger fonts) than the stock Mail app. But the issue of the email not getting downloaded unless the app is opened is a big put-off.

Native mobile mail applications refresh in the background, and promoting Outlook Mobile is more difficult when there is not feature parity.

Eliminate the delay whereby the notification announces a new email arrived but it takes several minutes to that email to actually show up in the inbox. Very annoying when you know the email is there but there is a significant delay before you can read it.

Hej, there should be a function to load all mail items, it is very limiting with the current ”load function” that also is cleared from time to time.

Please can outlook download email in the background. Currently it will show there are new emails but it takes too long to download and view them after opening outlook. You have to download anyway to view so better to do it ahead to make the response instant.

Doesn’t update until I open the app. Have missed calendar appointments because the notifications on my phone are out of date.
