Disable push function. I would like to be able to decide when I want to update my inbox.
Disable push function
Jakob P. Nickelsen commented
yes please make push vs. pull an option
This idea has been posted hundred times before and it's marked as completed when it's not. Microsoft you have to allow users to pull emails at their own desired schedule. It's a waste of precious battery otherwise. And it's pointless. When I want to check emails, I open the app and I pull them. There is absolutely no need to force push them on somebody. The other option I have is to delete and set up the account every time I want to check an email which is rather ridiculous. Why are the suggestions like allow to set sync frequency or disable auto update marked as complete. At least as far as I am aware I can't disable. It's a real nuisance.

there is no possibility to disable auto sync of your account, I want to have such option so that I can controll when to update (sync) my emails and meetings
enable manual retrieve of emails instead of PUSH only.
now only push is available, massive battery drain and i want to control when i download emails.
I don't mean the "don't disturb" function, rather a real control on pull vs. push and download intervals.
all email clients have such basic function.
there was a thread on the forum with thousands of votes, since years, and you deleted

Give me an option to disable push email. I would like outlook to fetch my emails only when I open the app and click on refresh

nice this has been sitting here since 2015. ugh.
Push only means battery use is horrific.
Let US decide when our emails arrive!

Especially during certain hours. I don't need my phone using data looking for emails when I'm at my computer at work.
