Managing or limit local cache size

An option to disable the local cache would be ideal; the extra write/erase cyles required to maintain the local cache might be bad for a mobile devic's flash memory.

User photos are reloaded every time I open the app. Can you cache them please? This wastes bandwidth and is a slow user experience.
I'm taking about the images that appear to the left of the emails in your inbox. Right now they first appear as circles containing I think the users initials? Then slowly they are populated with photos of the person.
If you can't cache them then let me disable that feature and just have the text in the circles.

App currently does not appear to work well with shared calanders. Updating a diary enter elsewhere can take days to update within Android App

after some amount of mails have come through the app, it takes longer and longer to load the initial view of the inbox
