Replicate all functionality of windows phone calendar, primarily synching and widget showing next appointment
Study the windows phone implementation, it is excellent in all regards: agenda on live tile, click to view calendar, monthly view actually shows some detail on each day, full synch and appointment option available, can mark appointment time as busy, I did not need my desktop computer to set appointments and customize details

Completely agree- the current widgets, although fine for traditional Android users, are too busy, try to do too many things, and simply don't work well if you are using a Tile-based launcher like Square Home or Launcher 10 (amongst many offering Live-Tile style experiences).

The best use of live tiles on windows is for the email and calendar app. I would love to have two kind ok widgets for each email account and calendar:
1x1 widget with badge or live tile design with badge with background, icon , number and name of the account
2x2 here I should have badge and a small preview of the most recent emails with small fonts (just like a live tile). Just like the preview in the bigger tile (the square one)
