Folders that I need regularly should be in the main list not in the sublist.
You can now have your important folders listed at the top of your folder tree by marking them as favorites in the app.
To do so tap on the 3 horizontal lines on the top left of the app screen> choose the email account you want to work with> tap on the pencil icon next to the word folders at the top of your side bar> scroll through your list of folders and tap on the star icon on the left hand side of each folder you would like marked as a favorite then simply tap on the check mark on the top right corner when done.
Having trouble finding the feature? Let us know through the Help section of the app. You may reach them by going to the app’s Setting > Help and Feedback > Contact Support.
Thank you again for your support, we look forward to hearing more of your ideas very soon.
All the best,
The Outlook Mobile Team
PS: Please use the Help Section of the app for any questions, we are not able to see replies to this address.

You have created several sub folders under Inbox so that so that you can move emails from Inbox to any of the sub folders. So that sub folder should be added to the Favorites.

This latest update removed my favorite folders from the menu. Upon trying to recreate them, they do not stay saved after marking them as favorites.
Like in desktop outlook and web Outlook
I filter incoming mail on multiple folders and am only interested on those.
It would be great to show and sync favorite folders and get notified if there's new email.
k9-mail has an option to select folder display and sync class which is a great help for me.

Coming from Windows 10 Mobile, the Outlook Mail app allowed you to see folders in addition to your inbox when you looking at linkes inboxes. Same holds true for Mail app on Windows 10. Since switching to Android, I desperately miss this feature. Having to switch back and forth between email accounts is just cumbersome. I think our customers would greatly benefit from being able to mark favorite folders and being able to view those folders when looking at all inboxes.

outlook for Android says that it has implemented folder favorites. but when I contacted support about the fact that they aren't showing up for my Gmail account, they said this wasn't supported and that I should suggest the feature.
favorites folders are necessary. or the ability to add folders directly into the focused inbox view.
Seems to be implemented. It didn't work for me on Android (marked favourites didn't show up on top in the list) until I cleared the cache of the outlook app....worked afterwards as expected...
The weirdly sorted "favorites" in mobile Outlook feel strange. Just let me say "synch everything" and give me a simple way to set my default view and notifications to a multi-folder "Everything" or "All Unread" rule.
That would give us a much more consistent experience with desktop and web Outlook, and greatly simplify the (currently clunky) mobile experience.
less scrolling to find frequently used "move to" folders.

Just moved from windows 10 phone to android and would like to see ability to bring favorite folders to the widgets in order to view them without having to open the app and navigate to the folder.

Say you have a certain email contact and you want to sort out all your emails to/from/including them, but you don't have the time to move all the emails into one folder.
You would be able to pick/'favorite' certain contacts and a folder with all the emails to/from/including the chosen contact(s) would be created. It would be auto updated/sorted whenever a new email to/from/including that contact is received.
I am aware that there is an option for this on the website version of outlook, but if it could be added to the mobile that would be helpful.

I would like to have the same favorite folders at the top of the list, like it is possible in webmail and the Desktop version of Outlook in office 365.

This seems to have launched, but how do you add a favorite folder?

As I have a lot of folders, it's so difficult to scroll into it to found that I want. My tip is there is some option to check a folder as favorite and so be able to see it at first when open the folder list. got it!?
