Do not combine email accounts
I have one personal and one work account. When checking emails at work I don't have time for my personal emails. When after hours I don't care about work emails, cause wanna have life. Can you NOT TO COMBINE more email accounts into one? Or gives us option to switch it on or off.
Angela Bourabah commented
Yes, users need to keep their email accounts separate. Combining accounts into one will confuse those boundaries.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

For example, if I'm on holiday I want my work email account disabled. When I return to work, I then want to enable it. At present, I have to delete the work account to "turn it off" then re-enter the account details to "turn it back on".

This is NOT fixed. Someone keeps merging this with CLOSED reports of the issue. We need All mail inbox Disabled. We need to keep accounts SEPARATE (work, personal, etc).
Focused inbox is not ALL Mail inbox. When we get notifications for email, it doesn't take us to the email account it came in. It goes to ALL mail. This does not work. We need to keep these accounts 100% separate.
If you guys merge this again and claim COMPLETE, I will call you and explain how the people reading these are failing to comprehend the issue and are just being lazy.
Paulius is a bit abusive but correct.
This was about the combined inbox, making several accounts all show in a single box, not the focused inbox, which is required painful since the algorithm never gets it right.

you should be fired for this. I asked about COMBINED inbox, you answered about FOCUSED inbox. You know what, Microsoft support is the shittiest support EVER, you just keep giving COMPLETELY UNRELATED information and closing down people's complaints as if they were answered. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

add the ability to disable combined inbox completely. When I get a notification about new email, it sends me to the combined inbox. Having to switch back to single inbox view is very annoying and risky. I can very easily send an email from the wrong account, and that's a huge deal breaker. I want to get separate notifications for each account and tapping on a notification would open that ONE account's inbox. The old behavior can stay on by default, just let me disable it in settings.

Wow, 2016 and still nothing. Will remove Outlook and find something else, it will never be fixed.

Disable All Accounts Inbox

They're going to close this as "Complete" and provide instructions to switch to individual accounts again... but we want this option to disable unified inbox!!!

Sometimes I have to disable receiving e-mails for some of my accounts. In. Samsung email APP it is possible.

My work email and personal email continue to be merged into a unified inbox by default. I'm sure it was meant as a handy option, but it creates issues. I'm looking for an option to disable the unified mailbox. The app should open the last account mailbox that I was accessing it let me choose a default to open each time, but not default to a merged inbox.
Alex Rubenstein commented
Sometimes the app defaults to the view of "all inboxes".. I don't like this. In my context, it can be confusing. Option to disable this view would be great.

I'm also sick of being dumped on the combined inbox. I NEVER want to see my work emails mixed with personal. Make this a configurable option.

All accounts inbox is such a ****. That made me accidently shoot a work email from personal account as it used personal account by default. Plus there's no way to recall the email. Such fail. Understand the severity of such events from corporate IT audit point of view.

Why would anyone want to see personal and work email together? Give us there option to turn it off.
Dave Adamson commented
In settings, have a switch to enable /disable the combined inbox.
Can we disable the combined inbox or not yet?
If yes, how do I do it?

It is annoying and I don't use it. The frustration is compounded when the default "view" is the combined inbox. And your developers / QA team is consistently ignoring this feature, considering the 4 "matching ideas" that are marked completed.
Troy Murray commented
I read an idea earlier that was marked as completed and clearly Microsoft did not understand. Ideally, having a switch or a tic-box to choose whether or not we want an "all accounts" mailbox. even if it takes a few minutes to turn it on and off due to mixing mailboxes. That way, if "all accounts" mailbox is turned off, it defaults to your mailbox if you have only one or one of your mailboxes if you have multiple.
