Remove Email Notification when Read on other Device
Update and remove new email notification icon on mobile device when email is read on another device i.e. desktop/laptop.

If I open the app and set the email to read after receiving a notification, the notification still stay at the status bar.
The notification should be removed if the email has been set as read.

This is rediculous that it aint implemented yet.

when I receive a notification of new emails and I read said emails by opening the app instead of clicking on notification, the notification should be smart enough to realize that and clear rather than me having to manually clear

How come this has never been fixed yet? It should be fixed ASAP

I agree bc it feels like beta software. the Gmail app has this functionality already and shouldn't be hard to implement.
It's really annoying to see mail notifications in android app even after reading those mails from outlook in desktop.
Gmail app always clears notification after mail is read from desktop.
Tiny features like this make a lot of difference in the user experience.

Right now we only have "Archive", "Delete", and "Reply". It would be handy if we also have a Read button that will change the status of an email to read already without actually opening that mail from the notification bar.

Apps like WhatsApp and teams that have various clients will remove notifications once messages are read even if they are read on the PC. This is great since it keeps notifications only got messages you ACTUALLY haven't read yet

Another year goes by and we are still waiting!
icon notification should go away after opening new email.
This is sooo frustrating. Every other email app can figure it out!

There's a similar matching idea marked as completed, but I suspect the author (or at least most followers) expect this to be the case for syncing read state and notification clearing across devices as well.
When an email or calendar event state is set to read in any email client, on any device, the Android notification corresponding to it should be cleared. Ideally if the email or calendar event state is then set to unread, the Android notification should re-appear, but this is just a nice to have and should not block the core feature of clearing read notifications.
All other mail clients I've used appear to support this, (including iOS email app, which is not developed by Microsoft!), so it was an unexpected obstacle, and I have used the Android outlook app far less as a result).

I need this. I read and manage a lot of emails on my desktop at work. Constantly having to clear the notifications for emails that I already read is ridiculous. It sometimes prevents me from seeing new emails because I can't bother to go through all the ones I've already read.

Teams has this and it is great! It's very annoying to get notifications while at my desk with outlook open, but I don't want to turn notifications off for the times I am AFK but still need to respond to emails.
The fact that such a small but annoying feature has not been implemented yet and that MS remains deaf to user feedback is a joke. I've just uninstalled the Outlook to use Gmail instead for my personal account. Wish I could do the same for my work email (but my organisation ties me to Outlook unfortunately).

Pls prioritize this idea
even though mails are read on linked desktop, notification and toast on mobile remain, until either swiped off or the app is opened.

Email notifications so not go away on Android device after email is read from any device. Annoying to keep getting notifications when email already read and even filled out deleted. Have to manually delete notification.

when a new email comes in I see it in Inbox. after I read it the new email notification is still toasted in notification bar.
