'Working on it' dated 2017 ... any more recent status ? We're almost in 2021 ... Outlook for Android as SOOO far to go in order to become a viable mobile solution for business users used to Outlook on Windows. Even native Android mail/contacts/calendar apps could provide useful insight to the MS team on now to make Outlook for Android better. Not to mention all the direct feedback from Uservoice.

Contact Management is critically important for almost all users & neither the Mobile nor the Desktop versions of Outlook do a good job at it.
Although "syncing" is useful, it ends up creating a MESS. Many of my Outlook Contacts now show to be synced with 10 or 15 or more other "contacts", either from other instances/locations of Outlook or other apps (Samsung, gmail, etc.). Referencing those synced contacts would be useful if I could easily identify the source of each of them. But I can't tell (at least not easily) which is the actual "Main" Outlook contact on my phone, which is the synced version from my Desktop, which is synced from a separate Outlook contacts list for a different number (or purpose) from my desktop, etc., & which of the other "synced" contacts are from which multiple locations of other "contacts" created on or imported to my phone.
So:
1. Please identify the different synced contacts better (ID the main Outlook contact as "Main", each other synced Outlook contact list by location (e.g., "Outlook Desktop", "Outlook Desktop 1", etc.), & more clearly ID the specific source of each synced non-Outlook contact (e.g., if 2 Gmail contact lists are synced, then ID them as "Gmail" & "Gmail 1").
2. Also allow users to rename the source of each because often a user needs more detail in the name to recognize the source).
2. Provide a facility to permit a user to compare the data in each field between the Main Outlook contact & any synced contacts AND that will:
a. Permit the user to select data items in a synced contact & cause Outlook to either replace (or add to) the existing data in the same field of the Main Outlook contact (including adding a missing field, if needed). Just "linking" to the info in those other contacts is not adequate because when the Main Contact just lunksctob& displays "bad" data in a synced contact, it's a real PITA to fix the problem. One must open & look at each of 8, 10, 12, etc. "synced" contacts to find the ones with the "bad" data, & delete those syncs. But they later sync again & the new links start the that same problem over. Now that I think about it, I think this may be what's happening with "Merge" - it needs to be "smarter" in this regard.
b. Outlook should remember what's already been imported so it won't need to waste time comparing against that same contact again . . . unless it has changed.
c. While it would be nice for Outlook to also be able to update the data in those "synced" contact lists, that's not nearly as important &, if it's difficult, don't even try to do it.
3. Give separate access for getting to Outlook Contacts info while using Email of Calendar! This is IMPORTANT!! I can't tell you how many times I've been drafting an email or trying to schedule an appointment & I need quick access to info I know is in a Contact to be able to copy - or just reference - it in the email or schedule request. Ratgercthan trying to figure out how to get it from the Outlook contact, it's so much easier for me to just click on the Samsung Contacts list to get that info without fear that I'm risking loss of my incomplete work in the email or in a schedule request! It shouldn't be that way! It should be easiest to get to that info within Outlook - but you don't MAKE it easy or obvious how to do it!
Thanks,
Paul -

This Outlook will always be a toy until you give me a equivalent migration target.
And for Heaven's Sake, integrate Contacts with Teams!!!

to describe when sending a new email to an email address that is incorrect or misspelt or simply does not exist. It's under the people Icon list all of the people and the emailed addresses but does not let you delete them. I would like to delete those email addresses that are not in use or are wrong

I don't want to open outlook to call persons in my organisation. I want to use the regular phone-app for accessing the outlook contacts.

In personal contact list there is an option that let the user eliminate undesired contacts. However; always that the user is creating/writing a new e-mail, in the suggested contact list history still appearing some contacts that even the user never added in their personal contact list. Is unpleasent still saving in memory/history account undesired e-mail addresses. Let the users clean the suggested contact history.
