I work with a lot of information from the same provider. If he sends me important information, I mark the different emails, but those marks tell me nothing about their content if I don't open them. If I could add customizable marks through categories, I could check the marks by product type.
Imagine that I am a construction contractor and I have to mark several customer emails. I could mark the emails and create 3 categories of marks for them. (Budgets, in process, Work completed).
The method I imagine to manage marks, is the same as in which android groups are created in the contacts application. Where the mail to be marked, would be the contact and the personalized mark, would be the group.

I can see colors of my appointment categories from my Windows Desktop Outlook connected to my outlook.com account in the Outlook Calendar on Android, but I cannot edit them or assign them to new appointments!

when I create my appointment on the calendar, I want to be able to select the color category that appointment while in Outlook for Android and not have to go back to the web or outlook on my computer to add.

It is a shame that categories cannot be synced with Android app. I am using Outlook 365 desktop and categories to organize my emails and contacts but this is impossible when I use my Android app since it is not syncing categories. I like my Outlook email but am now starting to use Gmail more and more because of the limitations in the app.
Totally agree. I organize my mailbox with categories so you are not limited to choose in which single folder you place an e-mail. Now I find myself moving away to folders because categories are not shown nor offered for email in the app. It makes me long for Gmail.
implementing the categories feature for emails in your outlook mobile app for Android so we can use this feature while out instead of having to wait until back in office to do it or even forgetting or missing doing it
it would be very helpful to be able to assign categories to emails in the outlook app for Android similar to the windows desktop client. Our company is on Office 365 and I am missing this functionality deeply.
On my PC I can create an email category (name and color). By doing this I can quickly understand what type of emails I'm looking at. Searching by category will be very usefull as well (I'm receiving hundrets of emails per day).

Need the ability to apply and see the categories that are being used in a shared mailbox in the app. This is how we designate that action is being taken on an email and by who.

with the option to add separate profile pics....and an easier way to send txt messages to our contacts as another way of communicating
add the ability to add a category to an email from the app

So I can see categories now, but I can't assign / select / modify them. Why not?
Emails at the time of writting should have option to categorise mails like- bank statement, purchase bills, mobile bills, electricity bills, etc. Above is to enable user to sort and create folders accordingly for review and reference later on.Unrequired left mails can be deleted.
Option to create category for new mails and old mails right below ''subject ''
Option for incoming mails , when opened , before closing ,to select category along with option of review / reply date .

Hi Outlook Team
Request you to please add a feature in Outlook Mobile App, of categories as it is in Gmail.
We can view and edit categories and all alot emails on the app itself as in Gmail.

This is just my initial thought since it is my first time encountering this issue; however, I noticed that when I tried to add someone to my contacts, that person was automatically favorites. If/as my favorites list becomes more populated, I'd like to be able to easily recognize them by category. I am aware that I can possibly arrange categories by color code but I don't have a legend for what those colors may represent.

Please add the categories from Outlook(.com) for the calendar (selectable on event creation) as well as for emails (should be shown like in Outlook and selectable by the user within the mail reader view)

It would be very helpful if you could assign colour categories to the sub-folders in the Outlook inbox (similarly to how you can colour categories the individual mails in the inbox).
At work multiple people use the same inbox it would therefore be helpful to colour categories sub-folders so everyone can easily identity and organise each person's mails.
