Allow customized buttons in notifications such as Delete, Mark as Read, etc
Several other email apps have the ability to delete a message from the notification screen without having to go into the app. I know you can archive but having a delete function (or a choice of which function you want) would be awesome.
This has been broadly reported as done around August 2020, but I don't see it in Outlook installed today. That is literally the last thing that prevents me from using Outlook as my primary Android email client.
It'd be good if this were added

When an Outlook email notification pops up and you click delete, it will often sit there for 10 seconds often much longer before the notification deletes. Completely quit using Outlook notifications for emails because I wasn't going to sit there and watch to see if it deletes.

would be great to allow changing options top right when viewing mailbox. now it's just delete or archive. would like Mark as Read. I don't use archive and would make it more functional for users. I can modify swipe but don't use that either as I usually go down my list in bulk.

PLEASE PROVIDE THE FEATURE OF mark as read from NOTIFICATION BAR
we have to open app again and again to mark read any unimportant mail.
Came to this page after reinstalling the app, and couldn't see how to customise the notification options. It turns out (and this also happened to me last year when I reinstalled), the option only presents itself a few hours after installing the app.
If it does appear, you should find it under Outlook settings -> Notifications (Email) -> 'Custom actions' (top option). You can then customise the first two notification options (the third one 'reply' can't be changed).
EIther add as an option or remove archive as an option and add 'Mark as Read'.
It's the most annoying thing on the app. Have to unlock phone and go into app to mark as read.

App used to show delete button for new email within notification, which was incredibly helpful. Now I have to open app just to delete email (as I dont want them to pile up); it's a waste of time.

When l get a notification of a new email, and when l swipe it down to see more details, l would like to see a delete button to allow me to delete the message without having to view it in the app. Gmail does have this feature, why not outlook?

It says this item has been completed but as of 1/26/2021 Android 11.0 there is not an option to mark read from the notification bar when a notification for a new email is received. To see examples of this you can download the Boxer app (through employer) or Yahoo! mail app. Both have the option to mark read.

As new emails arrive they are added to my device's notification panel on my Android device.
However if those emails are deleted the notifications for those deleted emails still show.

Enable mark as read from the notification window, not completed as per the other ideas suggest!

Allow for deleting new emails from the Push Notifications menu, along side the quick reply and archive buttons, so we can delete new emails without having to open the outlook app.

For mobile phones I would like the option to delete incoming mail from the notifications bar of my phone so I don't have to open the app
The "read" option would be great. The native mail app for android has it. I don't want to mark a message as archived. I want to mark it as read.

when you get a notification for a new email there's an option, delete, it doesn't work. even though I tap on it my emails are left on the in-box.
