Allow customized buttons in notifications such as Delete, Mark as Read, etc
Several other email apps have the ability to delete a message from the notification screen without having to go into the app. I know you can archive but having a delete function (or a choice of which function you want) would be awesome.

Now on notification there is 3 actions (archive, delete and répond).
I don't use archive action.
Now it's not possible to change the archive action to another.
I want to personalize fast action of the notification

Right now there's the option to send a mail to archive or delete it from the notification. I would suggest to implement options to customize those actions, e.g. being able to mark a mail as read from the notification.

I dont need to archive or delete some messages but want to keep it in the inbox marking as read.
sme messages are understandable by looking at the subject but I still need to keep it as read to refer later instead delete/archive without opening it.

For example, instead of archive, have mark as read. See TypeApp's implementation. Stopped using TypeApp as it became consistently buggy.

When I receive the email notification, from a drop down menu I have following options: Archive, Delete and Reply. It would be great if you can exchange Archive for Mark as Read.
Working on it.... Hmf
Not sure why it states "completed" as these options are not present.

It's been close to 3 years since this has been asked. Another post which has 10000 + and is marked as working on it in 2017. Still not implemented. Do you want us to move to another app?

Add "Mark as Read" option to the notification shade. Now it's only flag, delete, and archive. Let us customize the options there.

outlook Android App - is it possible to have the option of "mark as read" in the notification tray when a new email comes in? currently you only have archive, delete and reply.

Easier or usual options for notifications bar when receiving emails, like the options delete and mark as delete and maybe archive or spam options

mark emails as read without opening the app

when a new email comes in, you should be able to mark it as read from the pull down menu in Android rather than just having the archive/delete/reply options.

Add option to mark as read to the notification in Android. There is an item showing as completed in ideas but it is still not available

Also the new message pop up on screen should be distinguishable using choice of colours based on email account recd

Make it so!

really this simple option is more useful and necessary, notice that independent developers can do this in their mail app and a company like Microsoft does not know how to program that option?
When viewing an email notification from the shade we should be able to choose the 3 actions we are most likely to perform. Archive is currently one of the (forced) options... My guess is that archive is one of the least favored quick actions... How about "mark read"?
