The "badge count" feature only has 2 options: "All" and "Off. I think it should also have an option to display NEW mail count like other aps
The "badge count" feature should include the option to count NEW mails since last check also in the Android app. Just like the native one does. I am only interested in the new mail count, and don't find it useful to read an accumulated amount every time a new mail arrives.

I think it's unfortunate that someone decided to merge my suggestion with this one. This suggestion is asking to show only new mail that has arrived since last checked which I don't necessarily agree with.
My suggestion below is for the badge to only count email from contacts marked as Favorites in People.
These are two very different behaviors. Please consider separating them or at least have someone from the Microsoft team clarify if both functionalities are being considered, but as separate options.

PLEASE add an option for the badge notification to display only new email from contacts marked as Favorites.
I get a lot of email . Even after setting Outlook badge count to show only emails in the Focused view, the count is usually too high to be useful. Focused vs Other is very helpful, but anyone who gets tons of email needs something more fine-grained. For example, after marking your mom, significant other and boss as favorites in Outlook People, the badge would never show more than 3. And those would be the only emails you really want to check immediately. Badge counts like "67" or "99+" or even "28" are meaningless when you glance at your phone to see if anything really important came in recently. I want to keep things such as bills and clients in my focused view, but I'm not going to stop in the middle of whatever I'm doing to read them all!
Samsung mail got this feature for a long time ago with their VIP list. Microsoft Outlook has really improved and deserves this killer feature as well.

It should be also a available for Android, like the native Android app. Are you going to release this option for the Android Outlook app?

My notification badge is showing over 100 emails, even though I have the unread filter on. I have zero unread. Why isn't the badge matching my filter?
Hey, this is an Android thread, why would we care about latest update of Outlook IOS?

This is still not available on my Samsung Note8. I need a badge count of new emails, not unread emails.

Badge count based on last time I saw my email or based on new emails from last time I saw my email. BlueMail can do it.
